Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was a recent guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, and during the episode, he discussed, among other things, neural technology. During his conversation, Zuckerberg remarked that Elon Musk’s Neuralink would probably not be popular in the next 10–15 years because “normal people” would not want to have devices implanted in their brains that are made of non-mature technology.

Zuckerberg admitted that Meta is researching neural interface tech as part of the company’s push into the metaverse, though he also noted that the tech company is focusing on innovations that can receive signals from the brain but does not send any information back to it.

In later comments, the Meta CEO noted that companies like Elon Musk’s Neuralink, which is developing a device that can be implanted into people’s skulls, is taking neural technology “super far-off.” Neuralink’s implant is designed to record and stimulate brain activity, which Musk has stated could help people address conditions such as obesity.

Lawyers representing Elon Musk in his battle with Twitter have former CEO Jack Dorsey. The filing is the latest development as Musk and Twitter prepare for the October trial over Musk’s attempt to bail on his $44 billion deal to buy the company.

It’s not yet clear how Dorsey factors in to Musk’s legal strategy. As noted by the y Twitter account, the subpoena refers to “documents and communications reflecting, referring to, or relating to the impact or effect of false or spam accounts on Twitter’s business operations.” It also references documents related to how Twitter uses mDAU or monetizable daily active users as a “key metric.” Interestingly, it “documents relating to incorporating mDAU into executive or director compensation.”

Dorsey isn’t the only former Twitter executive subpoenaed by Musk. Twitter’s product chief and former head of revenue Bruce Falck have also received subpoenas.

Musk seems frustrated with the delays in Neuralink’s progress.

Elon Musk, the world’s richest person has reached out to a competitor Synchron Inc. about a potential investment after his own biotech company Neuralink has lagged in developing an implantable brain chip, Reuters reported.

Launched in 2016, Neuralink was co-founded by Musk to develop implantable brain-chip interfaces to connect humans and computers. Like his ambitious projections about his electric vehicles, Musk had ambitiously claimed in 2019 that Neuralink was aiming for its product to receive regulatory approval by the end of 2020.

Later in 2021, when the company had not even begun human trials, Musk claimed at a Wall Street Journal conference that he expected them to begin by 2022, but the company has failed to get the regulatory nod to do so, even at the time of writing this. Contrastingly, a startup, Synchron, received the necessary approvals last year.

Artificial General Intelligence — Short for AGI is a trending and recent topic of debate among AI researchers and computer scientists. A pressing issue for AI or artificial Intelligence is the AI alignment problem. The AI control problem could be the most important task for humanity to solve. Elon Musk warns that AI is probably the biggest existential threat for humanity. AGI is probably even more dangerous than nuclear warheads and nobody would suggest we allow anyone to build nuclear weapons if they want. The pressing issue for a potential AGI development and eventually the creation of a digital super-intelligence is going to be increasingly relevant in the coming years. European Space Agency’s (ESA) director general has proposed the development of Europe’s first space-based solar power system to be constructed in 2025.

ESA, an intergovernmental conglomerate of 22 member states, will decide on the director’s plan in November this year, according to a report published in Ars Technica.


Europe is seriously considering developing space-based solar power to increase its energy independence and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the leader of the European Space Agency said this week.

Neuralink, a company co-founded by Elon Musk, has been working on an implantable brain-machine interface since 2016. While it previously demonstrated its progress by showing a Macaque monkey controlling the cursor.

It’s unclear what kind of deal Musk has offered — whether it’s a collaboration or a financial investment —since none of the players responded or confirmed the report with the news organization.


Elon Musk’s last update on Neuralink — his company that is working on technology that will connect the human brain directly to a computer — featured a pig with one of its chips implanted in its brain. Now Neuralink is demonstrating its progress by showing a Macaque with one of the Link chips playing Pong. At first using “Pager” is shown using a joystick, and then eventually, according to the narration, using only its mind via the wireless connection.

Today we are pleased to reveal the Link’s capability to enable a macaque monkey, named Pager, to move a cursor on a computer screen with neural activity using a 1,024 electrode fully-implanted neural recording and data transmission device, termed the N1 Link. We have implanted the Link in the hand and arm areas of the motor cortex, a part of the brain that is involved in planning and executing movements. We placed Links bilaterally: one in the left motor cortex (which controls movements of the right side of the body) and another in the right motor cortex (which controls the left side of the body).
