On May 30th, SpaceX is slated to launch its first human passengers to space on the company’s new Crew Dragon spacecraft. The mission is a critical test flight for NASA as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program, aimed at getting private companies to create vehicles that can take astronauts to orbit. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — NASA is rolling out the International Space Station’s red carpet for Tom Cruise to make a movie in orbit.
The space agency’s administrator, Jim Bridenstine, said before Wednesday’s planned launch of two NASA astronauts aboard a SpaceX rocket that Elon Musk’s company is already getting customers eager to blast off.
Cruise is one of them.
