What do you think of a car that can drive itself from the factory straight to your home? A car that will automatically head to the police station if someone tries to steal it or take you to the hospital if you lose consciousness while driving. Or simply, it allows you to enjoy a deep, restful sleep after work and wake up right at your doorstep.
Recently, Elon Musk and his team confidently announced that this vehicle would be available to consumers at just one-fifth the ticket price of Waymo, an incredible deal for two passengers! And you can rest assured about safety, as it has been verified to be 8.5 times safer than a traditional human-driven car.
In todayâs episode, weâll compile all the latest updates on its performance, impressive specifications, final pricing, and a detailed breakdown of its production process, all packed into this 19 minutes. Welcome to Tesla Car World!
As Tesla said the new Cybercab could cost Tesla only half as much to manufacture as a Model Y. This means ticket prices could be significantly lower compared to Waymo, which charges nearly five times the price of a Robotaxi and incurs much higher operating costs due to extensive mapping requirements. This presents a massive profit opportunity for Tesla while offering an incredibly affordable fare for up to two passengers!
Moreover, for the price of a bus ticketâwhich isnât always the most pleasant experienceâyou get a private space, your own cabin. You can relax, sleep, work, entertain yourself, watch a great movie, and travel in the most comfortable and efficient way possible aboard Teslaâs Cybercab.

In todayâs AI news, a consortium of investors led by Elon Musk is offering $97.4 billion to buy the nonprofit that controls OpenAI. The unsolicited offer adds a complication to Altmanâs carefully laid plans for OpenAIâs future, including converting it to a for-profit company and spending up to $500 billion on AI infrastructure through a JV called Stargate.
In other advancements, all eyes were on French President Emmanuel Macron Sunday at the end of the first day of the AI Action Summit in Paris after he announced a âŹ109 billion investment package. âFor me, this summit is not just the announcement of a lot of investment in France. Itâs a wake-up call for a European strategy,â he said.
And, Current AI, a âpublic interestâ initiative focused on fostering and steering development of artificial intelligence in societally beneficial directions, was announced at the French AI Action summit on Monday. Itâs kicking off with an initial $400 million in pledges from backers and a plan to pull in $2.5 billion more over the next five years.
Then, ZDNET contributor Jack Wallen reports his local AI of choice is the open-source Ollama. He recently wrote a piece on how to make using this local LLM easier with the help of a browser extension, which he uses on Linux. But on MacOS devices, Jack turns to an easy-to-use, free app called Msty.
In videos, At the AI Action Summit in Paris, Yann LeCun underscored a fundamental shift in artificial intelligenceâone that moves beyond the brute-force approach of large language models in his presentation, âThe Next AI Revolutionâ. The future of AI hinges on *world models*âstructured, adaptive representations that can infer, reason, and plan.
And, DeepSeek is not a threat to OpenAI says, Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO Snowflake, the $60BN public company with $3.5BN in revenue growing 30% per year. Sridhar joined Snowflake following his company, Neeva, being acquired by them for $150M. Mr. Ramaswamy spent 15 years growing Googleâs AdWords from $1.5B to over $100B.
Then, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt with Alliant founder Craig Mundie talk with David Rubenstein about the promise, and potential peril, of a new frontier in artificial intelligence â and their collaboration with the late Henry Kissinger on his final book, Genesis. Recorded January 26, 2025 at The 92nd Street Y, in New York City, New York.

At Teslaâs Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, creativity meets technology in a remarkable initiative to transform concrete surfaces into stunning artworks. Inspired by Elon Muskâs vision to turn the factory into a canvas, the project began with local graffiti crews. However, the sheer scale of the endeavor required innovative solutions, leading to the collaboration with a robotic muralist startup. This groundbreaking graffiti printer combines cutting-edge technology with artistry, using a triangulation method to maneuver its print head along factory walls. With 12 paint cans onboard, the robot sprays precise dots of colorâ10 million per wall and 300 million for the west side aloneâcreating intricate designs composed of five distinct colors. The curated artworks draw inspiration from Berlinâs vibrant culture, Teslaâs groundbreaking products, and the factory itselfâdescribed as âthe machine that builds the machine.â A blend of global and in-house artistic talent has contributed to the ongoing project, making Giga Berlin not just a hub for innovation but also a celebration of art and ingenuity.

S energy storage solutions are becoming increasingly important, potentially doubling the grid Future Outlook.
In future, doctors hope the technology could revolutionise the treatment of conditions such as depression, addiction, OCD and epilepsy by rebalancing disrupted patterns of brain activity.
Jacques Carolan, Ariaâs programme director, said: âNeurotechnologies can help a much broader range of people than we thought. Helping with treatment resistant depression, epilepsy, addiction, eating disorders, that is the huge opportunity here. We are at a turning point in both the conditions we hope we can treat and the new types of technologies emerging to do that.â
The trial follows rapid advances in brain-computer-interface (BCI) technology, with Elon Muskâs company Neuralink launching a clinical trial in paralysis patients last year and another study restoring communication to stroke patients by translating their thoughts directly into speech.
Grok, the AI assistant integrated into the X platform, has been released as a standalone app, expanding its reach beyond the social media site. Developed by xAI, the app retains its signature conversational tone, which the company describes as âhumorous and engaging.â Grok allows users to generate images, summarise text, and answer questions.
Initially launched in December 2024 for a limited set of users, the Grok app builds on Xâs rollout of a free tier for the AI assistant. Previously, access to Grok was tied to an X Premium subscription, starting at $8 per month. The free tier allows 10 requests every two hours and three image analysis requests per day â restrictions that may also apply to the standalone app.
Users can sign in to the app using Apple, Google, or X accounts, or simply by email. Itâs unclear if X Premium subscribers gain additional benefits when using the Grok app, as they do on X.
