Sooner or later Musks childish, morally and politically inept use of social media will thwart his greater (and great) ambition. Whatever your personal beliefs, there is exactly ZERO doubt that every generation since and including millennials has become exponentially less willing to tolerate this kind of stuff. Musk is going to NEED to both the fresh and enthusiastic intelligence and majority scale support, and not JUST in SpaceX research labs and on site engineering teams either.
He’s going to need IMMENSE, PROLONGED, and RELIABLE political support even as the reins of power are being passed from one generation to the next. If he keeps using Twitter like he has nothing to lose and no one’s support He’s going to find that he really does no longer have anything to lose nor anyones support.
At that point, he’ll have difficulty getting from city to city, much less get to Mars to build CITIES or become a secure, far more survivable interplanetary civilization!
That would be a tragedy of possibly humanity extinguishing scale. Is THAT really worth the freedom to act like an entitled, petty child on social media?!
Musk and his dreams already have enemies enough. Why put HIMSELF at the top of that list? After all, this dream is NOT his alone, nor even remotly it’s originator. He’s just the only person to have the right mix of buisness acumen, technological literacy, enthusiasm, imagination, discipline, charisma, and luck to actually make it a reality. If he fails now, that dream WILL die. Whether its because of global warming, war, disease, atrophied critical thinking skills, educational decline, all of the above or some black swan event, the funds, time, will, and the global interconnectedness between scientific institutions and freedom to innovate and leverage those many convergent capabilities to achieve what MUST be achieved will be reduced or gone entirely. ☝️🤨👈

SpaceX rapidly reuses converted Falcon Heavy booster
SpaceX has reflown a converted Falcon Heavy side booster just 37 days after its first mission as a Falcon 9 rocket, successfully delivering a batch of Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO) in the process.
Booster B1052 first flew in April 2019 as part of Falcon Heavy Block 5’s launch debut. The same side core was reused two and a half months later in June 2019 but was then unceremoniously ushered into an unknown warehouse. Despite earlier statements from CEO Elon Musk indicating that new Block 5 Falcon Heavy side boosters could be quickly and easily converted into Falcon 9 boosters, B1052 remained mothballed in storage for the better part of two and a half years. Only in December 2021 – almost 30 months after its last launch – did the former Falcon Heavy side core finally reappear in the form of a Falcon 9 booster.
A month and a half later, on January 31st, Falcon 9 B1052 debuted with the flawless launch of Italy’s CSG-2 Earth observation satellite, subsequently becoming the first SpaceX booster of any kind to complete three back-to-back ‘return-to-launch-site’ landings.
World’s Largest Hydrogen Plant Says It’s Going to Power SpaceX Launches
US startup company Green Hydrogen International announced plans for a a 60GW renewable H2 project that will be powered by wind and solar. It’ll also produce clean rocket fuel for SpaceX, which is helmed by billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk, according to a report published yesterday in Recharge.
“We see Hydrogen City becoming one of the largest H2 production centers in the world, supplying many different customers with 100% clean H2 fuel,” founder Brian Maxwell told the energy industry pub.
The image below from GHI’s website shows the process of converting renewable energy from wind and solar farms into ammonia and rocket fuel. The key to scaling up production, the company says, is the large salt storage capability found in underground salt domes.

Elon Musk Says SpaceX Is So Busy With Ukraine That It’ll Delay Starship

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Friday that there would be “slight delays” ahead for the company’s experimental Mars-bound spacecraft. To blame, the billionaire said, was SpaceX having to dedicated more resources to fighting escalating cyber attacks on Starlink satellites by Russia after the space company sent Ukraine a shipment of its internet terminals.
Starship’s first launch has been delayed numerous times now, with much of it due to pending regulatory approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). However, this latest instance comes amidst a time of geopolitical turmoil caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
