I show how the time dilation derived in special relativity by assuming an abstract concept of malleable time, can be derived in a more mechanistic manner by assuming that the cosmos is like a simulation \& time is a processing delay.
I had this idea while playing minecraft with my son — every time I approached a large villager-town the PC slowed down and I thought \.
´Time is a processing delay´ — is a poor/wrong idea:
When we wind up the spring of a clock-work or when we insert a battery > then we add energy > and time will pass by — when we have a flow of energy.
Because every clock/watch is a machine, which work according with the laws of thermodynamics!
Therefore we can say: time will pass by when we have a flow of energy — thus we can use the definiton for ´time´: TIME IS ENERGY
The flow of energy will depend on the object:
e.g. the amount of energy which has to flow for one second will be depend on the object — it is very differently — if we use a wristwatch or tower-/church-clock
Our universe had its highest concentration of energy at the moment of the big-bang. With the expansion of the universe the average-concentration-of-energy-per-volume will decrease permanently. Our universe is nothing else as a machine.
Thus we can say: We have here a flow of energy AND we can use the definiton TIME IS EMERGY
(source: the idea/definition TIME IS ENERGY is published in my book: Kinseher Richard “Auflösung grosser Fragen: Was ist Bewusstsein? Was ist Zeit?” (= answer to big questions: What is consciousness? What is time?”)
