Jeff Bezos Is Funding a Wild Hunt for the Brain’s ‘Core Algorithm’
With $500 million in funding and a reported $2.5 billion valuation, Flourish wants to reinvent AI by putting real neurons under the microscope.

Doubtful funding: Trying to build AI-systems which work like a brain — is a huge waste of money. A ´core algorithm´ of the brain will never be found, when researchers continue to ignore how the brain is working.
In ´Near-Death Experience´(NDE) we can perceive LIVE + CONSCIOUS how a single stimulus, thought, situation is processed by the brain — step-by-step. But this DIRECT access to the working brain is not a topic for brain-research up to now. Therefore we can say, that researchers will never understand how the brain is working — when they ignore one of its most important abilities: The DIRECT CONSCIOUS ACCESS to it.
E.g. we can perceive with NDEs NINE different versions, how a single stimulus, thought, situation is processed: Up to now these NINE different strategies of the working brain are not a topic for brain-research. Source: A complete explanation of NDEs in German language can be found in my book/e-book: Kinseher Richard “Auflösung grosser Fragen: Was ist Bewusstsein? Was ist Zeit?”
Another example: With methods like MEG, PET, N-IR, EEG, fMRT, electrodes — we can have only an INDIRECT access to neural activity. But with NDEs we can have a DIRECT access to the working brain (Contents, Strategies). Therefore NDEs are a MISSING-LINK for brain research!
Here are the NINE different working procedures/strategies which are used in Near-Death Experience (NDE) to process a stimulus, thought, situation: We can perceive two different strategies — A) reactivated memories as a LIFE-REVIEW (LR) in AScending or DEScending order and B) a mental simulation of the actual situation perceived as an ´OUT-OF-BODY EXPERIENCE (NDE).
1) LR in AScending hierarchical order — since the 5th month of fetus-age 2) LR in DEScending hierarchical order — from the actual age back to the 2nd-4th year of childhood 3) OBE alone 4) start with OBE — continue with LR in hierarchical AScending order since the 5th month of fetus-age 5) start with LR in hierarchical AScending order since the 5th month of fetus-age — then switch to OBE — then continue with LR in hierarchical AScending order 6) start with LR in hierarchical AScending order since the 5th month of fetus-age — then switch to OBE 7) start with OBE — continue with LR in hierarchical DEScending order 8) start with LR in hierarchical DEScending order — then switch to OBE — then continue with LR in hierarchical DEScending order 9) start with LR in hierarchical DEScending order — then switch to OBE
These NINE different working strategies were up to now not a topic for brain research or for a KI-simulation of the working brain.
With Near-Death Experience (NDE) we can understand, that our experiences are STACKED UP in the memory — AND — that memories are REACTIVATED in hierarchical AScending or DEScending order.
This can have a huge impact on our working brain and on the decisions which are processed by it: When memories are reactivated in hierarchical AScending order — then some of our decisions might preferable be based an the knowledge of a child. When memories are reacivated in hierarchical DEScending order — then our decisions will preferable be based on the knowledge of a well educated adult person.
This does mean that our decisions on the same stimulus might be very different — dependent on the strategy which is used by the brain: AScending or DEScending order of the reactivation of memories/experiences.
Additional the effect of PRIMING is well known: PRIMING mean that the state/activity of a neuron PRIOR to the processing of a new stimulus will decide how the new stimulus is processed. This does mean, that an identical stimulus might be processed into very different results.
These examples might demonstrate that it will be very strange to perform research about a ´core algorithm´ of the brain — when researchers continue to ignore the direct access to it as we can perceive it with NDEs.
