Genes associated with depression and other mood disorders are more active in the anterior hippocampus, while genes linked to cognitive disorders, such as ASD, are more active in the posterior hippocampus.

“The world’s first purchase agreement for net-zero carbon supersonic aircraft marks a significant step toward our mission to create a more accessible world,” said Boom CEO Blake Scholl in a statement.

The planes, which will fly twice the speed of current passenger jets, are expected to be rolled out in 2025, take flight in 2026, and start carrying passengers in 2029.

The space agency is launching two missions to study Venus’ atmosphere and geological history.

On Wednesday, NASA selected both DAVINCI+ and another Venus mission, VERITAS, to study the planet’s atmosphere and geological history. It will mark a return to Venus after decades away.

A team led by UC Riverside engineers has developed a catalyst to remove a dangerous chemical from water on Earth that could also make Martian soil safer for agriculture and help produce oxygen for human Mars explorers.

Perchlorate, a negative ion consisting of one chlorine atom bonded to four oxygen atoms, occurs naturally in some soils on Earth, and is especially abundant in Martian soil. As a powerful oxidizer, perchlorate is also manufactured and used in solid rocket fuel, fireworks, munitions, airbag initiators for vehicles, matches and signal flares. It is a byproduct in some disinfectants and herbicides.

Banner Smoked Fish Inc. is recalling 43 of its s moked fish products in all package sizes, all package types and all lots, because of a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The problem was discovered through FDA routine inspection, and the products were found to be processed under unsanitary condition.

The recalled smoked fish were distributed through retail stores and also online in the New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, Nebraska, Arizona, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, Oregon, Wisconsin, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

NortonLifeLock, formerly Symantec Corporation, has released a new crypto product that allows users to mine ether (ETH) from their personal computers.

The product, Norton Crypto, is currently available to select customers who use the company’s antivirus software called Norton 360. The public launch of the product is expected “in the coming weeks.”

How does the product work? A crypto-mining software is installed within Norton 360, which allows users to run it when their computers are idle.
