Latest Manus VR Gloves Promise New Levels of Finger Tracking Accuracy

At GDC 2022 this week, VR glove creator Manus revealed its new Quantum Metagloves which the company says delivers significantly more accurate finger tracking than its prior solutions. Though priced for enterprise use, the company says it one day hopes to deliver the tech to consumers.

Manus has been building motion gloves for use in real-time VR and motion capture for years now, with prior offerings being based on IMU and flex-sensor tracking.

The company’s latest product, the Quantum Metagloves, moves to a new magnetic tracking approach which purportedly offers significantly more accurate finger tracking, especially when it comes to self-contact (ie: fingers touching other fingers or the palm of the hand).

A study published today in Nature Communications unveils a new platform for discovering cellular signatures of disease that integrates robotic systems for studying patient cells with artificial intelligence methods for image analysis.

Using their automated cell culture platform, scientists at the NYSCF Research Institute collaborated with Google Research to successfully identify new cellular hallmarks of Parkinson’s disease by creating and profiling over a million images of skin cells from a cohort of 91 patients and healthy controls.

North Korea test-launched new ‘Hwasong-17’ ICBM for first time, state media says

It claims the ICBM is the largest ever launched.

Reports are in that North Korea have just test-launched their new” Hwasong-17” intercontinental ballistic missile. The longest-range missile platform developed to date by the country, it has been developed, by all accounts, to help “contain” U.S. military threats.

The test launch was guided by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the 24th of March 2022.
