The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s (JAXA’s) SLIM lander will demonstrate accurate landing technology as well as a low-cost, lightweight infrastructure.

Japan is launching a lander to the lunar surface hot on the heels of India’s Chandrayaan-3 lander, which became the first to ever land near the lunar south pole this week.

A Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s (JAXA) H2-A rocket will launch the SLIM mission on August 28 at 09:26 JST (August 27, 20:26 EDT) from Tanegashima Space Center in southern Japan.

The battery can be charged for up to 200 cycles and does not contain wires or toxic heavy metals.

Researchers at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore have devised a micrometer-thin battery that can power smart contact lenses and be charged with tears, a university press release said.

According to Techxplore, the computers in a vehicle can be divided into four categories; The majority are dedicated to operating the vehicle’s drive train-controlling the fuel, the battery, monitoring emissions, and operating cruise control. The second category is for safety-collecting data from in and around the vehicle for functions like lane correction, automatic braking, and backup monitoring. The third category is information-entertainment systems that provide music and video and can interface with personal devices through Bluetooth. The last category is the navigation system.
