The Nobel prize in physics this year went to black holes. Generally speaking. Specifically, it was shared by the astronomers who revealed to us the Milky Way’s central black hole and by Roger Penrose, who proved that in general relativity, every black hole contains a place of infinite gravity — a singularity. But the true impact of Penrose’s singularity theorem would is much deeper — it leads us to the limits Einstein’s great theory and to the origin of the universe.

This video will address the hypothesis that advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and neurotechnology could trigger a technological singularity. The singularity could involve the development of artificial intelligence (AI) that is superior to human intelligence, effectively blurring or perhaps removing the distinction between humans and machines.

There is no agreement on when artificial superintelligence will be achieved. Still, one thing is sure: we need to think about our collective goals before the alarming trend of technological singularity makes them irrelevant. Artificial General Intelligence — Short for AGI is a trending and recent topic of debate among AI researchers and computer scientists. A pressing issue for AI or artificial Intelligence is the AI alignment problem. The AI control problem could be the most important task for humanity to solve. The pressing issue for a potential AGI development and eventually the creation of a digital super-intelligence is going to be increasingly relevant in the coming years.
