Huang, Son Joke About SoftBank’s Early Stake in Nvidia

Even the biggest investors often make terrible trading decisions for their portfolios.

At an AI summit in Tokyo on Wednesday, Jensen Huang and Masayoshi Son joked about how SoftBank was once Nvidia’s largest shareholder before dumping its stake. The two billionaires are now joining forces on a Japanese supercomputer. SoftBank, which until early 2019 owned 4.9% of Nvidia, has secured a favorable spot in line for the chipmaker’s latest products.\r.

Mysterious Mastercard Data Breach Triggers Bank Warning As Customers Urged To ‘Pay Close Attention’ To Money Movements

A US bank is warning customers of a security “intrusion” that may have compromised Mastercard account numbers and other financial data.

Maryland-based Eagle Bank says it has received a notice from Mastercard, stating an unnamed US merchant allowed unauthorized access to account information between August 15th, 2023, and May 25th, 2024.

The bank revealed the breach in a filing with the Massachusetts state government.

Toyota To Offer 745-Mile Solid-State EV Battery

Toyota known for its hybrid innovation, has been cautious with fully electric vehicles (EVs), only launching its first EV, the bZ4X, in 2022.

Solid-state batteries are smaller and more durable, making them well-suited to daily fast charging and capable of carrying additional weight, like extra passengers or cargo. This technology has been difficult to scale up, but Toyota’s strong financial base and reputation for reliability position it uniquely to introduce these advanced batteries to the mainstream.

Historically, Toyota’s innovative, consumer-friendly designs, such as fuel-efficient cars in the 1970s and hybrids in the 1990s, have revolutionized the auto industry. Now, Toyota’s solid-state battery development could do the same, potentially transforming EVs from niche to mainstream by offering greater efficiency, performance, and convenience.

Jamie Dimon Says TikTok and Facebook Are a ‘Total Stupid Waste of Time’ and People Should Read Books Instead

Dimon was speaking at the Georgetown Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy’s annual Financial Markets Quality Conference when he was asked whether he had any advice for the students there.

“For most of you guys, turn off TikTok, Facebook. A total stupid waste of time,” Dimon said.

Reading widely and consuming history books, Dimon said, would be a far better use of their time.
