Humanity will be lost

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, computing, geopolitics, internet, mobile phones, transhumanism

I did a new interview on #transhumanism for some journalism students at Germany’s Technical University of Dortmund. It’s in English:

Mechanical bodyparts are very common nowadays – a lot of humans have a hip replacement or a pacemaker. Technology helps saving our lives rather often. Some people want to take this a lot further – a philosophical and scientific movement called Transhumanism. Zoltan Istvan Gyurko is one of the most famous Transhumanists, he even ran for president in 2016. In this interview, he talks about his first experiences with Transhumanism, immortality and the future of humanity.

Google’s AI AlphaGo Is Beating Humanity At It’s Own Games (HBO)

Posted by in categories: employment, robotics/AI

Go is an ancient, aristocratic Chinese board game that’s reputed to have as many possible moves as there are atoms in the universe. And Google recently trained an artificial intelligence computer to play against one of the best human players in the world. The computer won.

At Google’s Future of Go Summit, 19-year-old Chinese Go prodigy Ke Jie was defeated by the AI AlphaGo in a three-match series.

‘In my lifetime, the singularity will happen,’ Alison Lowndes, head of AI developer relations at technology company Nvidia, tells Metro.co.uk at the AI Summit.

‘But why does everyone think they’d be hostile?

Robots ‘will reach human intelligence by 2029 and life as we know it will end in 2045’.

Inside the Ring: Report: AI threatens humanity

Posted by in categories: cybercrime/malcode, drones, government, military, robotics/AI

Rooting for the AI’s.

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing warfare and espionage in ways similar to the invention of nuclear arms and ultimately could destroy humanity, according to a new government-sponsored study.

Advances in artificial intelligence, or AI, and a subset called machine learning are occurring much faster than expected and will provide U.S. military and intelligence services with powerful new high-technology warfare and spying capabilities, says a report by two AI experts produced for Harvard’s Belfer Center.

With Immortality On The Horizon, Will Humanity Be Able To Survive The Technological Transition?

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, life extension, robotics/AI

Mimetic Evolution or the collective will of humanity to imitate the most successful achievements of nature with technology, has finally set in. At this dawn of artificial intelligence humanity is trying to not only find its place again, but to do the inevitable, the inescapable – merging with the technology we created. We have to be the artificial intelligence by incorporating the transcendent aspects of an artificiality that otherwise could easily become a mastermind, both in control of us and out of control.

Yes, it will begin slowly with AI helping us to achieve dreams of humanity, ways for us to live longer and healthier. Just ask what the many biotech companies focus on and the answer unanimously will be putting an end to aging.

The idea of eternal youth and immortality is a blessing, albeit a mixed one. We learned that progress never stops and it isn’t plausible to think that we now revert back and suddenly stop working on machine learning and connected devices as well as connected thinking.

New Tech Is Giving Humanity Many Potential Paths to Immortality

Posted by in categories: life extension, neuroscience, Ray Kurzweil, singularity

Both Kurzweil and the 2045 program have predicted the state of machine-human singularity being achieved by 2045, but what are the methods of achieving such an end and what are the consequences of doing so?

Herodotus’s Fountain of Youth. Rowling’s Philosopher’s Stone. Barrie’s Neverland. Ovid’s Cumaean Sibyl. The idea of immortality has been ingrained in humanity’s creative consciousness since our humble beginnings. In the present day, eternal youth may soon move out of the realms of myth and into a reality thanks to developing technologies.
