Aging disrupts sympathetic innervation of the thymus

In this study, Carpenter et al. show that aging disrupts sympathetic innervation of the thymus, causing axonal degeneration, stromal niche loss, and impaired thymic function. Pharmacological rescue of adrenergic signaling partially restores thymic function in aged mice.
