Vishnupriya S. Devarajulu, MSc

Vishnupriya S. Devarajulu, MSc  is a Software Engineer at American Express and a Global Ambassador for the Empower Women in Tech Alliance (EWTAlliance), with over a decade of experience in AI-driven performance optimization, advanced data analytics, cloud-native development, cybersecurity, and applied machine learning.

She is a published researcher, frequent hackathon judge, and invited speaker whose work bridges AI innovation, predictive analytics, and secure software engineering across high-stakes enterprise platforms in fintech, healthcare, and large-scale data systems. Her technical leadership spans cloud ecosystems such as Azure and AWS, predictive analytics, development of secure software architectures, and the application of AI models to optimize system reliability and safeguard sensitive data.

At American Express, where she has worked since September 2023, Vishnupriya developed the UI/API Performance Optimization Framework, enhancing the scalability and reliability of mission-critical applications. A key initiative has been her development of an AI-powered performance optimization framework designed to predict load failures using telemetry-driven insights, leveraging machine learning models such as Random Forest for failure prediction, Bayesian Optimization for performance tuning, and SVMs for anomaly detection.

This work was competitively selected for presentation at DevCon 2025, highlighting its enterprise-scale potential. She has also presented an AI Lifecycle Accountability Framework for regulatory-driven financial applications, integrating tools such as MLflow, SHAP, and Fairlearn to enable automated audit log generation and compliance dashboards for governance teams. Vishnupriya’s research paper, AI-Driven Mission-Critical Software Optimization for Small Satellites: Integrating an Automated Testing Framework, was selected for the prestigious NASA-supported Small Satellite Conference at Utah State University in August 2025. The paper presents a Python-based validation framework for SmallSat software, integrating telemetry simulation, synthetic fault injection, anomaly detection, and runtime tuning using machine learning techniques across 30 test cycles, achieving an average latency reduction from 1.42s to 0.89s and a fault rate reduction from 33% to 16.6% with Bayesian tuning.

She maintains an active open-source presence on GitHub and serves as a NASA Space Apps Challenge Navigator, guiding innovators and problem-solvers during the world’s largest annual space and science hackathon.

Prior to American Express, Vishnupriya held senior engineering roles at several major financial and technology enterprises. Between May 2023 and August 2023, she was a Senior Software Engineer at Cigna Healthcare, where she received the CGI Champions Award in July 2023. Between February 2022 and May 2023, she served as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at FIS.

From October 2018 to February 2022, she was a Senior Full-Stack .NET Developer at Wells Fargo. Between October 2017 and October 2018, she held two Full Stack Dot Net Developer positions at Credit Suisse in New York and Raleigh, North Carolina, where she received the Above & Beyond Call of Duty Award in November 2017 for her engagement on a Credit Suisse project.

From January 2015 to September 2017, she was a Dotnet Developer at CEVA Logistics in Jacksonville, Florida. Her career has spanned high-impact challenges, including fraud analytics, SEC-compliant workflows, and privacy-first processing under HIPAA across fintech and healthcare domains.

Vishnupriya’s thought leadership includes judging international innovation programs such as the Credit & Collections Technology Awards, the Risk Technology Awards, and high-impact hackathons, including the WEkEO-Copernicus EU Hackathon and TartanHacks at Carnegie Mellon University.

She has spoken at global conferences, including Data Science Salon New York sponsored by S&P Global and Data Science Salon Miami, contributing to discourse on ethical AI, generative AI regulation, and scalable enterprise architecture. Vishnupriya earned her Master’s Degree of Science in Computer Engineering in 2014 from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching Machine Learning applications, Algorithm and Concept learning, and Artificial and Neural networks to graduate students.

She also served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, covering Digital Design, Computer Architecture, Microarchitecture, and Memory Systems. She received the DFS Scholarship Award from the University of Houston in 2013. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering in 2012 from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, India. While at JNTU, she was awarded 2nd place by the United Nations Information Center for India & Bhutan for a bachelor’s-level writing event on Hope & World Peace in 2011.

She has authored over 20 publications in AI, machine learning, and software optimization, presented at IEEE conferences, and contributed to peer-reviewed journals. She holds advanced certifications in Data Privacy and Technology from Harvard University, building RAG Agents with LLMs from NVIDIA, and AI and Cybersecurity from the SANS Institute.

As a Global Ambassador for the EWTAlliance, Vishnupriya champions inclusive innovation, responsible AI leadership, and global collaboration in technology. She lives in Clermont, Florida.
