Dr. Monica Mastrantonio

Monica Mastrantonio, Ph.D. is a Futurist, Transhumanist, Activist, Clinical Psychologist, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Giessen on Imaginable Futures. Her research interests include Renaissance Women’s Letters, Future Dissociations, Anxiety, Mental Health, Personality, Bergson’s Time, Foucault, Lacan, and Inner SDGs.

She has studied time narratives in various projects from working hours in a factory to the Millennium Turn (The Year 2000) in a national newspaper. Now, her research interests are in the literature of the self, memoirs, diaries, and letter studies, focusing on disruptive and non-linear narratives.

Since 2024, Monica has been Researcher in Residence at Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH). She is working on the project Womanizing Land: The Culture of Women Not Owning Land — Narratives & Challenges for a Sustainable Planet.

She has been a Clinical Psychologist and Doctor in Social Psychology Licensed in CRP and the American Psychological Association, working in private practice since 1993. Her expertise encompasses stress and crisis management, neurodiversity, relationships, and trauma. Visit her at It’s Complicated.

She works as Clinical Psychologist at Doctoralia España as well. Founded in 2007, Doctoralia is currently the leading platform in 12 countries in Europe and Latin America, with 1.8 million healthcare professionals using the tool daily. They aim to help reduce the administrative burden for self-employed healthcare professionals and medical centers.

Since 2023, she has been a Dissertation Supervisor at Arden University in the UK on Business Psychology and was previously, between 2021 and 2024, Visiting Professor and Research Fellow at the University of York, UK, where she works on Women’s Letter Studies. Since 2019, Monica has been working at NovoEd with their collaborative online learning platform, empowering organizations to design and deliver experiential learning.

Since 2018, Monika has been working and researching as the CEO at Majestique Regenerative Farming, where she works as Foresight Behavioral Specialist. She is exploring Qualitative Research, Future Trends, Transhumanism, Recruiting, Complexities, Data Analysis, Foresight, Psychoanalytical, and Design Research. She studies Bergson’s Time.

She is an Independent Researcher, Ambassador, and Activist at the World Forest Organization in the United Kingdom and the Global Goodwill Ambassadors in the USA. Between 2022 and 2024, Monika was Postdoctoral Guest Researcher at Justus Liebig University Giessen. She was Visiting Researcher at the Institute for the Future between 2019 and 2024.

Between 2018 and 2024, she was a Writer, Essay Tutor, and Research Development College Prep at Daqui Pra Fora. They are an educational consultancy that prepares students for the selection processes of universities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and accompanies them throughout their university careers, offering support and creating opportunities for personal and professional development.

She also worked as a Psychologist between 2022 and 2024 for Wangie.app, a Mental Health Startup.

Monika is also an Author and in her spare time, she writes under the pseudonym of Margareth Stewart and publishes everything from novels to short stories and poems. She is mostly interested in developing strong characters and unusual stories.

She lives part of her time in South America, Europe, and Miami. Being a constant traveler and an avid reader has shaped her into a very open-minded person who is capable of dealing with multiple projects and targets.

Her novel Open: Pierre’s Journey after War was nominated for the Merle Curti Award. She published the fiction The War, The Cabaret, and Urban Poems. She also published her Best Seller 365 Good Deeds: One Good Action per Day. She has also edited and published the following anthologies: Whitmanthology: on Loss and Grief (2016), Womanthology: Writings on Women Worldwide (2016), The Pain that Unites Us All (2017), and The Brave & The Afraid (2018), gathering more than eighty writers from different countries. She is also a painter, mainly with oil on canvas, translating her experiences into shapes and colors, i.e., “skin” panels. She is extremely keen on curating a Future Memorabilia Experience and realizing her next book, a feminist thriller.

Monika earned her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo in 2014. Her thesis investigated the narratives about the Millennium Turn (The Year 2000), and was published as Millenniums in Use: production of Global and Local Meanings in a Daily Newspaper, LAP Academic Publishing (2021).

Additionally, Monika has obtained several certifications, including “Magic in The Middle Ages” from the University of Barcelona in February 2018, “How Writers Write Fiction 2016: Storied Women” from NovoEd in October 2016, and “Whitman’s Civil War: Writing and Imaging Loss, Death, and Disaster” from NovoEd in July 2016.

Monica has completed certifications in financial modeling, leadership, storytelling for change, nonprofit strategy, social entrepreneurship, and another program titled “How Writers Write Fiction” in 2015.

Between 2015 and 2021, Monica was also Adjunct Professor at the Universidade Santo Amaro – Unisa.

Monika is the Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Political Science and International Relations and a member of the International Board at ARGA for Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

Monika was awarded Honorary Membership by the European Association of Applied Psychology (EAAP) in 2023 and was Prized winner by the Philanthropy University at the Palace Versailles – France.
