Khellar Crawford

Khellar Crawford is the Chief AGI Innovation Officer at SingularityNET, Cofounder and Chief AGI Strategy Officer at Singularity Compute, and Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Otomo. A serial founder and inventor, he works at the intersection of artificial general intelligence, decentralized infrastructure, and financial technology.

At SingularityNET, the decentralized AI platform and marketplace founded by our Ben Goertzel, Khellar drives innovation in artificial general intelligence across industries, accelerating AGI research and applications and collaborating within the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, the collective formed by SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and CUDOS.

He joined the organization in June 2023 as AI Chief of Staff, a role in which he supported our Matthew Iklé, SingularityNET’s Chief Science Officer, in overseeing the frontier technology developed across its AI teams. His appointment was announced in the company’s Q3 2023 operations update and profiled in SingularityNET Welcomes Khellar Crawford as AI Chief of Staff, which described his contributions to inclusive financial services and his work spanning adtech, Hollywood, and fintech. Since September 2024, he has served as Chief AGI Innovation Officer, working with the leadership team and ecosystem spinoff CEOs to remove friction, identify opportunities for acceleration, and increase clarity and alignment across internal and ecosystem initiatives. In that capacity, he helped shape SingularityNET’s AGI outreach strategy around requests for proposals and hackathons, and he joined Ben Goertzel and Matthew Iklé on the team evaluating the 124 proposals submitted to the organization’s decentralized AGI research grant program, structured through fourteen separate requests for proposals. Khellar cofounded Singularity Compute, the infrastructure arm of SingularityNET, where he has been Chief AGI Strategy Officer since September 2024. The company bridges advanced AGI research from SingularityNET into commercially deployable systems running on in-house hardware clusters optimized for AGI workflows, translating frontier architectures spanning probabilistic reasoning, symbolic systems, and cognitive memory frameworks into production-grade infrastructure.

His work there focuses on evolving large language model services into a higher-order intelligence layer built around metareasoning, knowledge graphs as a service, agentic architectures with long-horizon task fidelity, and persistent symbolic memory that outlives stateless inference. Singularity Compute launched its first enterprise-grade NVIDIA GPU cluster at a renewable-energy facility in Sweden in December 2025 under Chief Executive Officer Joe Honan. Since January 2026, he has been a Member of the Board of Advisors at Matterhorn, advising on the evolution of an AGI-native development environment that bridges expressive creation workflows with decentralized intelligence infrastructure.

He guides integration with Artificial Superintelligence Alliance technologies, including ASI:Chain as a substrate for verifiable, on-chain inference and persistent cognitive state, and consults on the high-fidelity generation and execution of MeTTa, the alliance’s language of thought, as a programmable layer enabling composable reasoning, symbolic memory, and agent-native architectures.

On the Matterhorn partnership, he observed that the power user of Web3 was always going to be AI, and that fusing blockchain security, ownership, and transparency with consumer-grade usability and native AGI inference opens the way to applications that are more intelligent, more composable, and more sovereign. Khellar served as a judge at LA Hacks 2026, the 36-hour hackathon at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion where Fetch.ai Innovation Lab was top sponsor, alongside our Patrick Hammer of SingularityNET and Fetch.ai executives Sana Wajid and Attila Bagoly. See the LA Hacks 2026 Hackpack. He was also a featured speaker at AGI-26, the nineteenth annual AGI Conference, held in San Francisco in July 2026. Before turning to AGI, Khellar spent a decade building tools to make financial wellness more accessible. He cofounded Otomo in January 2019 and continues to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. Otomo provides AI-personalized consumer financial wellness and rewards technology to financial and lifestyle organizations, delivering an embeddable recommendation engine for products and services that improve consumers’ financial health.

The company grew out of Paymation, which he cofounded and led as Chief Executive Officer from 2015 to 2018 and which published software for advanced hyper-personalized financial automation.

He is a named inventor on three granted United States utility patents underpinning the technology — Self-organizing money (US 10,074,091, issued 2018), an expansion of the same invention (US 10,346,847, issued 2019), and Dynamic financial management system, method and device (US 11,100,513, issued 2021) — covering a personalizable automated finance system in which user-defined rules passively execute transfers between accounts. His earlier career moved between technology and entertainment. Between 2020 and 2021, he was an Advisory Board Member at Viewcy, the virtual events and ticketing platform built by Ehren Hanson and Etsy cofounder Rob Kalin. From 2014 to 2018, he worked as a 3D animator at Cartoon Network, collaborating with the director and creative leads from pilot through season three to train technicians, establish a visual aesthetic, optimize the post-production pipeline, and develop macro automations for processing footage.

In 2016, he spent six months as a producer for Microsoft, working with a team of animators at BEMO to simulate the future of 3D web browsing. His screen credits are listed on his IMDb page and include the Adult Swim rotoscoped series Dream Corp LLC.

In 2008, he handled costume production at Paramount Pictures, designing and producing more than 200 full costumes for the far-future Romulans of the 2009 Star Trek film. Between 2010 and 2014, he was Technical Cofounder of Ama Bali Property in Bali Province, Indonesia, assembling a portfolio of luxury properties with local experts, and he cofounded the outdoors and fly-fishing publisher Stonefly Press.

From 2001 to 2006, he was Technical Cofounder of Gattaca in New York, where he led a thirty-person team scaling web experiences to millions of users, built an in-house analytics system to optimize onboarding and engagement across multiple sites, and produced online shorts, games, and articles. He also worked as an independent consultant on software development projects internationally between 2006 and 2016.

Khellar earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999 from William & Mary, where he studied art history and computer science and where his coursework spanned C++ programming, discrete algorithms, multivariable calculus, 3D animation, graphic arts, web design, European and Asian art history, and the history of filmmaking.

In January 2021, he received the 2020 Top 100 Global Leaders In Finance Award from the Global Conference on Insurance & Finance for his work with Otomo. He speaks English natively and has professional working proficiency in Indonesian.

Based in Austin, Texas, Khellar describes his strength as sitting at the intersection of software, strategy, and systems thinking, and his stated ambition is to build tools that scale and artificial intelligence that serves the broad good.
