Jason Bateman

Jason Bateman is a fundraising, engagement, and sales executive at XPRIZE, the global nonprofit that designs and operates large-scale incentive competitions to solve humanity’s greatest challenges, and a Senior Associate at S. Sutton & Associates, a philanthropic management consulting firm.

A self-described futurist and noble-cause growth champion, Jason specializes in building donor communities, cultivating high-net-worth philanthropists, and expanding the benefactor base for organizations working on the world’s most ambitious problems.

At XPRIZE, Jason serves as Advisor to the Global Visioneering Summit, the foundation’s flagship year-round engine for discovering and refining the next generation of breakthrough prize competitions, culminating in an annual invitation-only summit that convenes scientists, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to workshop ideas across climate, health, energy, space, and artificial intelligence.

Between 2024 and 2026, Jason was Vice President of Community at XPRIZE, where he led the business development team, broadened the foundation’s global benefactor community, and helped build a culture of referral-driven growth connecting XPRIZE with high-net-worth philanthropic futurists.

From 2022 to 2024, he served as Vice President of Individual Giving, leading the non-programmatic new business team to expand the XPRIZE benefactor community’s geographic footprint domestically and internationally and partnering with the Program Advancement team to identify prize sponsors. Across three decades of prize competitions, XPRIZE has awarded hundreds of millions in prize capital and engaged tens of thousands of innovators across more than 170 countries.

Among the initiatives Jason has supported is the XPRIZE Healthspan competition, a seven-year, $101 million global challenge launched in 2023 to develop therapies that measurably restore muscle, cognitive, and immune function in older adults. Jason has spoken publicly about securing sponsorship support and a testing partner for the competition, which he has described as a game-changer for healthy aging and human longevity. Since 2019, Jason has been a Senior Associate at S. Sutton & Associates, a full-service philanthropic management consulting firm serving nonprofit organizations and philanthropists across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. His areas of expertise there include individual giving, major donor growth, corporate partnerships and sponsorships, membership and sustainer programs, stewardship and engagement, planned and legacy giving, and board cultivation and activation.

Jason advises several organizations working at the intersection of longevity, technology, and culture. Since 2025, he has been a Strategic Advisor to the Alliance for Longevity Science, Arts & Entertainment (ALSAE), a nonprofit that unites longevity science with the arts and entertainment industries to inspire cultural change and accelerate progress against age-related diseases.

He also serves as a Strategic Advisor to The Roundtable Club, an exclusive community for high-level dreamers and doers, to ThinkSuite Inc, a community of investors focused on the future of investing and humanity, and to the Positive Technology Institute, which bridges thinkers, builders, and funders to promote human sovereignty, well-being, and abundance.

From 2019 to 2022, Jason was Director of Major Gifts at PragerU, the conservative nonprofit media organization that produces educational digital content, where he drove growth in major gifts, new donors, and PragerU Club members and diversified gift types including planned giving, stock gifts, and grants.

Between 2016 and 2020, he was a Founding Member of T2H2O, a team of innovators and executives that competed in the $5 million IBM Watson AI XPRIZE by applying artificial intelligence to freshwater scarcity and water management. In 2019, he served as Interim Corporate Strategy Officer for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region, leading corporate fundraising strategy across direct corporate philanthropy, cause-related marketing, workplace giving, and in-kind programs.

From 2017 to 2019, Jason was Director of Development at the Ayn Rand Institute, the nonprofit that promotes the philosophy of Objectivism, where he led a six-person development team and helped drive record revenues, launching new quarterly donor days, a membership model, and a corporate sponsorship program.

From 2015 to 2017, he was Managing Director of Gen Next, a Newport Beach–based membership organization of business and thought leaders focused on generational challenges in economic growth, education reform, and global security, where he led a team of regional directors and grew an elite network of members through a national referral campaign and customized onboarding.

Earlier in his career, Jason spent more than twelve years at Vistage Worldwide, the world’s largest executive coaching and peer advisory organization for CEOs and business owners. He rose through a series of national roles, culminating as Regional Executive (Vice President) for the Pacific Region from 2013 to 2015, where he mentored a team of more than fifty executive coaches, assumed direct profit-and-loss responsibility for the region, and recruited the highest number of executive coaches in the United States over two consecutive years.

His earlier Vistage roles included Director of Membership Development, Director of Membership Sales, Director of Sales for the Vistage Connect Program, Senior Executive Recruiter (Sr. Chair Selection Advisor) from 2005 to 2011, and Senior Sales Executive from 2003 to 2005. During his tenure, he broke the record for a single recruiter by recruiting 45 executive coaches in 2007, was named the inaugural winner of Vistage’s Executive Recruitment Excellence Award in 2010, and helped deliver the highest United States member count in the company’s history.

Between 1999 and 2002, Jason was an Executive Briefing Center Facilitator at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), the Boston-based product-development software company, where he coordinated sales demonstrations and executive briefings for Fortune 500 clients and major media partners.

Jason has been active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the National Association of Women Business Owners,McDermott & Bull Executive Network, and the Inland Empire Spirit of the Entrepreneur Awards.

Jason earned his Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, with a double major in Political Science and Studio Art and a minor in Communications, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon, a DJ on 88.7 WHCL FM, and a four-year varsity football player. As part of his undergraduate studies, he completed a Study Abroad Program at the University of Sydney in Australia.

Based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, Jason continues to focus on connecting philanthropic futurists with the organizations and innovators working to positively impact billions of people in the decades ahead.
