Professor Jacek Mańdziuk
Jacek
Mańdziuk, Ph.D., D.Sc. is
Associate Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics and Information
Science at Warsaw University of Technology and CIO at Mazovian Gas
Company in Warsaw.
He is Associate Editor of
IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in
Games.
His research interests include application of Computational Intelligence
methods to game playing, bioinformatics, financial modeling, time series
prediction, and development of constructive learning methods for
artificial agents.
Jacek is the author or coauthor of two books, one textbook, and about 80
scientific papers. He
authored
Knowledge-Free and Learning-Based Methods in Intelligent Game
Playing, and
coedited
Challenges for Computational Intelligence.
His papers include
Multigame playing by means of UCT enhanced
with automatically generated evaluation
functions,
Towards Cognitively-Plausible Game Playing Systems,
Neuro-genetic system for stock index prediction, and

He earned his M.Sc. (Honors) and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the
Warsaw University of Technology, Poland in 1989 and 1993, respectively.
He
earned his D.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Polish Academy of
Sciences in 2000 and a title of “Professor of Informatics” in 2011.
Jacek acts as a reviewer for several scientific journals devoted to
Computational and Artificial Intelligence. He is a Senior Member of the
IEEE, member of the
Games Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational
Intelligence Society, Founding Chair of the IEEE CIG Task Force on
“Neural Networks for Games”, and Founding Chair of the IEEE ETTC Task
Force on “Towards Human-like Intelligence”. In 1996 he was a recipient
of the Senior Fulbright Research Grant.
