Haley Lowy
Haley Lowy is Chief of Staff at SingularityNET, the decentralized artificial intelligence platform founded by our Ben Goertzel, where she has spent nearly five years helping guide the development of Beneficial General Intelligence (BGI) — working to ensure that the most powerful technologies of our time evolve in ways that augment humanity's potential rather than diminish it.
Appointed Chief of Staff in April 2026, Haley operates at the intersection of executive vision and organizational momentum. Reporting to SingularityNET's CEO and COO, she supports execution of priorities across the organization and the broader Artificial Superintelligence Alliance ecosystem — coordinating across teams, maintaining alignment, and bringing a systems-level awareness to organizational dynamics.
Goertzel describes her role simply: “Beneficial executive at large — helping with whatever needs coordination and execution.” She has served concurrently as the organization's Alignment & Coordination Officer since September 2024, designing unconventional systems of alignment and coordination — including reputation systems — that move beyond centralized hierarchies and enable human and artificial intelligences to coordinate at scale.
Haley joined SingularityNET in November 2021 to lead marketing, community, and organizational excellence. As Marketing Team Lead, she created and implemented strategy across social media, content, email, events, and digital marketing for SingularityNET and its ecosystem of incubated projects, nurtured a lean global marketing team, and liaised closely with AI and AGI development teams to translate highly technical breakthroughs for the project's worldwide community.
She also supported the organization's transition from a centralized to a decentralized model — decentralizing marketing activities through the Ambassador Program and organizational oversight through DAO formation.
Her writing for the SingularityNET blog spans the platform's technology, token economics, AI ethics research, and social robotics. Since February 2024, Haley has additionally served as Direction Lead of BGI Nexus, the SingularityNET ecosystem's global community building beneficial AI and AGI through working groups, hackathons, and collective action. She shaped the initiative's strategic direction, led the design of the BGI Agent — a conversational system for exploring fundamental questions of AGI, ethics, AI design safety, and collective flourishing — and authored key strategic documents and governance blueprints connecting technical development with ethical imperatives.
Ahead of the Beneficial AGI Summit 2024 (BGI-24), held in Panama City from February 27 to March 1, 2024, she made the public case for a global dialogue on AGI. Read BGI 2024: Why Now Is the Time for Global Dialogue on AGI and Discover the mAGIc of BGI 24: A Convergence of Minds for Beneficial AGI.
Haley has served on the conference organizing committee of the AGI Society since September 2021, organizing events, marketing, and PR for the AGI Conference series — the oldest conference series dedicated to artificial general intelligence research — including AGI-22 in Seattle and AGI-23 in Stockholm, along with virtual facilitation for AGI-21. She was a member of the organizing committee of AGI-25, the 18th annual AGI conference, held at Reykjavik University in Iceland in August 2025.
From 2023 to 2025, Haley was Chief Marketing Officer of Mindplex, the blockchain-based decentralized media network within the SingularityNET ecosystem, where she built the audience for its futurist magazine, podcast, and social network while promoting Mindplex's vision of restoring trust in media.
She announced the launch of Mindplex Magazine in January 2023 and promoted the Mindplex Podcast, co-hosted by Goertzel and our Lisa Rein, including its episode with Hanson Robotics founder, our David Hanson. Before turning to artificial intelligence, Haley built her early career in metallurgy and materials science, alongside nearly a decade in leadership coaching. From 2005 to 2008, she was a Metallurgical Engineer for quality and production efficiency at Alcoa in Ferndale, Washington. From 2008 to 2010, she was Lab Supervisor and Destructive Testing Team Supervisor at Anvil Corporation, an engineering and design firm in Bellingham, Washington, where she was a Certified Weld Inspector providing forensic analysis of weld and material failures for the petroleum, marine, and architectural industries.
From 2010 to 2018, she was Lead Metallurgist and Lab Manager at MISTRAS Group, managing a branch weld-testing laboratory specializing in physical and chemical testing of welds and welding materials. Between 2012 and 2021, she was also Cofounder and Human Excellence Coach at Dancing Wren Meadows, a Bellingham-based coaching practice that worked with the top and middle management of regional healthcare facilities to expand leadership capacity through improved communication and self-awareness.
Haley earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Science Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Pittsburgh.
In 2024, Haley was featured among the women leaders of the SingularityNET ecosystem in COO Janet Adams's International Women's Day tribute. Read Celebrating International Women's Day — The Future of Humanity Depends on Diversity and her Contributions on Medium.
