Andy Aymeloglu, MSc
Andy Aymeloglu, MSc is an Independent Developer, Head of Engineering at Hexagon Bio, and member of the Board of Directors at Alcor. Andy is Advisor to Engineering for Blend since 2015, for Qualia Labs since 2016, and Anduin Transactions since 2017.
At Hexagon Bio, Andy, as he puts it, “Mines Genomes for Drugs” since 2018 as VP of Engineering. Their interdisciplinary platform uses data science, genomics, synthetic biology, and automation to discover evolutionarily refined molecules and their protein targets directly from fungal genomes.
Andy has been an Alcor member since 2011 and is the Secretary of the Alcor Care Trust Supporting Organization Board. The Alcor Life Extension Foundation is the world leader in cryonics, cryonics research, and cryonics technology.
Previously Andy was the Director of Engineering at Palantir Technologies between 2005 and 2015. While he was there, they grew from a fledgling company to an 1800 person company with offices across the globe. He started as a Software Engineer and for the last 8 years, was the Director of Engineering. Palantir Technologies’ original clients were federal agencies of the USIC. It has since expanded its customer base to serve state and local governments, as well as private companies in the financial and healthcare industries.
Their methods have been used by counter-terrorism analysts at offices in the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) and the United States Department of Defense. In the past, they were used by fraud investigators and by cyber analysts. Today they are also used by hedge funds, banks, financial services firms, and by corporate clients such as Morgan Stanley, Merck KGaA, Airbus, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
Andy earned his Master’s Degree of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Stanford University in 2005. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in 2004 from Stanford University in 2003. During his undergraduate and graduate time at Stanford, Andy lectured Introductory Computer Science classes until 2006.
