Christopher H. Cordey, MSc, APF
Christopher H. Cordey, MSc, APF, is Cofounder of Terra Cognita 2089, Founder of the Geneva consultancy Futuratinow and of the systemic-risk platform Prosilience, and Associate at Gaming the Future. A futurist, strategist, and author based in Geneva, he works at the intersection of systemic intelligence and strategic foresight, with a focus on the substrates that make societies, economies, and political systems possible: water, energy, food, strategic minerals, infrastructure, institutions, knowledge, and human capabilities. He draws on experience gained in more than 70 countries.
Christopher cofounded Terra Cognita 2089 in March 2025 with Marie-Hélène Caillol, Editor-in-Chief of the Global Europe Anticipation Bulletin (GEAB). Registered as a Swiss association and operating between Geneva and Paris, the initiative maps the multipolar century by studying the long-term strategies of emerging powers and regions such as ASEAN, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the African Union, then meeting the people who implement them and confronting official visions with conditions on the ground during its Field Journeys. Its findings appear as a recurring section of the GEAB. Read Terra Cognita 2089. We map the multipolar world.
He has led Futuratinow since 2007. The firm specializes in ideation, strategic intelligence, anticipation, and the support of senior executives through change, delivering workshops, conferences, and training in Switzerland and abroad. Since 2019, he has also been an Associate at Gaming the Future, a Meudon-based designer of serious games, where he and our Fabienne Goux-Baudiment facilitate sessions of The Polycrisis Game, which prepares leadership teams to act amid interlocking climate, geopolitical, ecological, and technological shocks.
In 2022, Christopher founded Prosilience, a bilingual French and English platform he edits on systemic risks and societal resilience. It covers polycrisis, systemic peace, cognitive warfare, and the critical substrates of water, food, energy, and minerals. Read Suisse | Heidi chez les BRICS+ ?.
After 67 editions of its Thinkletter, Prosilience gave way in 2025 to mµtators, a collection of speculative fiction he directs. Its first opus, Le Congrès de 2049 (2025), imagines a quiet but radical shift in the world order in which institutions such as the United Nations are bypassed rather than abolished. The second, Le Congrès de la paix systémique (2026), places diplomats, soldiers, jurists, engineers, and information specialists in a fort in the Swiss Gotthard to invent a doctrine of systemic peace. Read Livres – Face à la polycrise, le futur mycélial du stratège-maïeuticien.
Christopher writes regularly on anticipation, security, and supply chains. In the GEAB, he argued that the entanglement of wars, inflation, shortages, and blackout risks made a major rupture likely and called for societal prosilience in 2023 – 2025: Blackout risks. Responding to the imperative of prosilience (2022). His essay Intelligence 5.0 : le nouvel enjeu de prospérité nationale, published in the Revue militaire suisse in 2018, asked whether Switzerland was ready for a new contest of intelligences driven by accelerating change and converging nano, bio, information, cognitive, and quantum technologies.
His paper, What awaits Europe: toward federal Europe? was presented at the 2013 World Future Society Conference. Since 2020, he has been active in the Antenne romande, the French-speaking branch of procure.ch, the Swiss professional association for purchasing and supply management, where he organizes events, curates content, and contributes to its magazine with articles on artificial intelligence and supply chain security and interviews with Carole Hubscher, President of Caran d'Ache, and Christian Petit, CEO of Romande Energie.
With Robert Salmon, he coauthored Heidi réveille-toi ! La Suisse est-elle tombée dans les pièges du succès ?, a manifesto on the complacency threatening Swiss success. That year, he also published 2050, c'est déjà demain in the HEC Lausanne alumni bulletin, which asked whether Switzerland might become a laboratory for cryopreservation, human enhancement, and longevity.
Before turning to foresight, Christopher spent 25 years in the consumer goods, luxury, and beauty industries, working for Philip Morris, Movado, Richemont, and Clarins. He then became Founding Director of the Sustainable Luxury Forum, a not-for-profit learning and sharing platform for luxury practitioners, NGOs, and academia, whose third edition convened luxury houses, NGOs, and international organizations in Geneva in 2013. He served as Program Director of the MSc in Luxury Management at Business School Lausanne, taught at Master's and MBA level there, and lectured in the corporate social responsibility executive education program of the University of Geneva and at the International Management Institute (MIM-Kyiv) in Ukraine.
Christopher earned his MSc from HEC Lausanne in 1987 and a Diploma in Management from the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines in 1993. He also holds a DAS in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Geneva and a Certificate in Strategic Foresight from the University of Houston, earned in 2012. In 2021, he completed the board fundamentals program Les fondamentaux du conseil d'administration at ACAD, the Swiss academy for board members.
He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists and the World Futures Studies Federation and speaks frequently on foresight and change. In 2020, he addressed Rotary Club Genève International on The Future of Well-being in a World of Digital Ubiquity.
