MaRi Eagar, M.Phil., MSc

Co-Founder and Chair of Digital Futures B.U.I.L.D., MaRi Eagar, M.Phil., MSc is listed on Thomson Reuters’ Top 40 Social Influencers in Finance, Innovation, and Risk for 2017.
 
DigitalFutures Blockchain User-Centric Innovation and Leadership Development is where MaRi specializes in token economics, risk evaluation, and due diligence on crypto assets, ICO, and blockchain initiatives. She is also an ICO/Token Consultant and Coach for various early stage technology companies and projects.
 
Since late 2017, she has been engaged as an Advisor for iComply Investor Services and writes for Medium, whom she is partnered with and where she works on the series The Crypto and Blockchain Generation. At this time she also became the Founder of BC Blockchain Forum, to promote the acceptance and use of digital assets and blockchain-based technologies.
 
In addition to her 5 years of experience working as a crypto asset and blockchain consultant, she is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the CIO Association of Canada, and a Business Strategist. She has had international careers at Deloitte, HSBC, KPMG, and Standard Bank.
 
Originally from South Africa, MaRi accumulated several years of management and leadership experience working for several companies in the fields of banking and consulting. In 2006 she began working for PACTS Consulting, eventually becoming the President of the company, before transitioning to Canada as a full-time Consultant for Deloitte.
 
In South Africa, she earned multiple degrees: A Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Auditing, and Business Management in 2012 followed by a Higher Diploma in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, and Taxation in 2014. She became a CA at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1996. She earned her masters degrees in Innovation and Leadership, then in Personal, Interpersonal, and Professional Leadership at the Copenhagen Business School, 2002, and at the Faculty of Organizational Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, respectively.
