Kimberly Washington is the Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Deep Space Biology and the Founder of Space4Girls. She is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist with over 20 years of experience leading international business ventures, focusing on leveraging artificial intelligence and space technology for global impact.
At Deep Space Biology, she leads the development of Yotta, the world’s first artificial intelligence platform to standardize 25 years of NASA microgravity research data to accelerate healthcare discoveries. Kimberly is also the Founder of Space4Girls, a global nonprofit empowering young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics within the rapidly growing space industry.
Under her leadership, Deep Space Biology has been recognized as one of the Top 10 SpaceTech Startups to Watch by StartUs Insights in 2023, named among Codex World’s Top 50 Innovators in 2024, and selected as a CreateX company by Georgia Tech.
As Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer of Deep Space Biology since March 2024, Kimberly has pioneered the integration of space biology data with artificial intelligence to revolutionize pharmaceutical research and development. In September 2020, Kimberly founded Space4Girls, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women to become innovators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and to become future leaders within the growing space industry. worldwide. Before founding Deep Space Biology, Kimberly established a distinguished career in healthcare and wellness entrepreneurship. She served as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Be Well International from 2011 to 2020, where she developed wellness and healthcare centers worldwide, along with innovative disease prevention and risk mitigation programs leveraging advanced technologies for both private and public sectors throughout the United States and the Middle East.
From 2008 to 2013, she was Cofounder and Managing Partner at NorthStar Health, a leading information services and technology company specializing in healthcare information technology solutions for the self-insured employer market. The company developed LUMINA, an innovative software platform that empowered self-insured employers and plan administrators by offering transparency to proactively manage health plan members, control costs, and promote healthier lifestyles.
Between 2005 and 2011, Kimberly served as Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Be Well Atlanta, a comprehensive business membership and social networking platform focused on health and wellness in the Greater Atlanta Area.
Kimberly has been a dedicated volunteer with The Art of Living Foundation since 2007, an educational and humanitarian movement founded in 1981. The organization operates globally in 152 countries and has touched the lives of over 370 million people through stress management and service initiatives. Since 2000, she has volunteered at the Children’s Advocacy Center, working with abused children in group therapy settings by integrating mindfulness and meditation.
Between April 2012 and April 2015, Kimberly served as Wellness Educator at The International School of London in Doha, Qatar, offering volunteer-based wellness programs to students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. She is a yoga and meditation teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching both children and adults, specializing in breathwork techniques.
