Jean Fox is the Co-Owner of Fox Productions, a multimedia production company, and NightFrights.com, a high-tech Halloween props business, with over 43 years of experience in entertainment, production, and creative services. She currently serves as Supervising Producer at Lightbridge Media and Strategic Advisor to Stanley Krippner, the renowned parapsychologist and professor emeritus at Saybrook University.
Jean is known for her unique ability to integrate art, science, psychology, and symbolism into inspiring projects, serving as what she describes as a “force multiplier” — creating effects that significantly increase potential and probability of success when added to any creative endeavor.
Throughout her extensive career spanning over four decades, Jean has established herself as a versatile professional wearing multiple hats as an independent producer, spokesperson, makeup artist, vocalist, and voice-over artist.
As makeup department head and image consultant, she has worked with an impressive roster of VIP clients including Presidents Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, filmmaker George Lucas, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, tennis legend Billie Jean King, NBA star Charles Barkley, NFL quarterback Joe Montana, and numerous other dignitaries in sports, politics, health, education, business, and entertainment. Her expertise extends beyond cosmetics to encompass production management, event architecture, and creative direction, making her an invaluable asset to productions ranging from ESPN coverage of major sporting events to feature films.
In 2017, Jean served as Lead HMU, Props, and Set Design for the feature film “Apparition”, where with limited budget and crew, she envisioned and implemented strategies that overcame numerous production challenges. She was Supervising Producer for Lightbridge Media’s PBS Magazine Show “Healing Quest” in 2014, where she managed location scouting, crew booking, and set design.
One of her most notable achievements was serving as Event Architect for HealthCorps’ nonprofit gala “Journey to Oz” in 2012, where she conceptualized and brought together influential stakeholders from politics, education, health, wellness, communications, and entertainment to create a collaborative experience for over 500 guests at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium.
Jean has held several high-profile positions that showcased her on-camera presence and communication skills. From 1988 to 1991, she served as Co-host of The California Lottery’s “The Big Spin,” where she had the privilege of presenting multi-million dollar checks to winners alongside host Geoff Edwards. She was the Spokesperson for HGTV (Home and Garden Television) from 1996 to 1997, representing the network during its early years. As a creative entrepreneur, Jean has been Co-Owner and Producer/Partner at NightFrights.com since 2009, developing innovative Halloween props and attractions as part of the growing $10 billion haunt industry. The company’s trademarked “Ghost Bust” is a 3D projection illusion with proprietary software, while “The Scary Mary Mirror” represents an entertainment/communications hardware and software solution with broad applications beyond seasonal use. These high-tech Halloween products have been shipped worldwide and are regular additions to amusement parks, events, and entertainment venues.
Jean served as Lead Singer for Jerry & the Van Dykes, a Classic Rock, Funk, and R&B band from 2006 to 2008, and as Vocalist for Dale Head and the Mindwinder Orchestra in 2018, where she performed duets and background vocals for this innovative 18-piece big band that combines rock music with orchestral arrangements. Her songwriting achievements include winning Second Place in the International Song of Peace Contest in Tipperary, Ireland in 2012 for her original composition Carry Me.
Jean earned her Certificate of Completion from the Capra Course in The Systems View of Life in 2019, studying under physicist Fritjof Capra to learn about systemic solutions addressing major contemporary problems through integrated biological, cognitive, social, and ecological dimensions.
Her volunteer work has included producing the Children of the Wind Concert for Wind Youth homeless shelter in 2008, creating a media campaign and outdoor concert with four area rock bands at CSUS to raise awareness about homeless teens.
Based in Rancho Cordova, California, Jean describes herself as a polymath and citizen scientist exploring the intersections of science and spirituality, with deep interests in philosophy, physics, neuroscience, history, and consciousness studies.
