Gabriel Vázquez Torres, MSc

Gabriel Vázquez Torres, MSc, is a Spanish artificial intelligence engineer and deep tech founder working at the intersection of AI, neuroscience, and regulated industries. He is the Founder of ConsciencesAI, a Madrid-based company building enterprise and clinical-grade AI platforms for healthcare and biotech organizations, and a Senior Data Scientist and MLOps Manager at Credicorp, the leading financial holding company of Peru.

His work focuses on building organizations capable of deploying AI systems in high-responsibility environments where trust, governance, and long-term sustainability are fundamental.

Gabriel founded ConsciencesAI in 2017 to develop, implement, and license advanced artificial intelligence software and algorithms — what the company calls Bio-Cognitive AI — operating as a B2B SaaS provider for the life sciences and enterprise automation sectors.

Its BioAI Platform applies advanced algorithms to genomic data analysis, disease pattern identification, and drug target discovery, while the company's proprietary research pursues bio-inspired systems and novel architectures beyond transformer models, and its enterprise practice delivers data platforms, MLOps, agentic systems, and cloud infrastructure compliant with EU and US data protection regulations.

Within the company, Gabriel oversees three strategic domains: institutional-grade system governance, applied neuro-inspired research oriented toward scientific and biomedical problems where conventional machine learning reaches structural limits, and organizational and operational scaling.

ConsciencesAI grew out of a proprietary machine learning framework Gabriel began building in 2017, first released as TFBoost — a TensorFlow-based framework, developed across 427 commits, for reading any kind of labeled data, generating training, validation, and test sets, and selecting the best-fitting algorithm — and later evolved into the Consciences framework, both published as open source on his GitHub.

Since 2022, Gabriel has served as Senior Data Scientist and MLOps Manager at Credicorp, whose subsidiaries include Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP). He created the bank's MLOps governance from requirements through architecture and deployment — designing workflows, organizational processes, working templates for data scientists and data engineers, KPIs, recruiting, and training programs — alongside cloud architecture, training at scale, cost optimization, and security, and he drives Machine Learning Reliability Engineering (MLRE) initiatives that increase the global operational stability of the bank with AI.

In September 2025, Gabriel served as University Lecturer and course creator in the Microcredencial Universitaria en Aplicaciones prácticas básicas de la inteligencia artificial en medicina at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, an official university credential accredited with ECTS credits, delivering in-person training on the practical implementation of AI tools in clinical diagnostic and treatment workflows.

From 2020 to 2021, he was Data Science Lead Instructor at The Bridge, a digital talent accelerator in Madrid, where he cocreated the syllabus of its data science bootcamp, spanning Python fundamentals, statistics, machine learning engineering, deep learning, NLP, and big data through to production deployment. In 2017, he created and taught the Curso de Machine Learning con TensorFlow at OpenWebinars, a 38-lesson introduction to practical machine learning with Google's TensorFlow.

From 2019 to 2020, Gabriel served first as Chief Information Officer and then as Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of TAFFD's (the Transdisciplinary Agora for Future Discussions), a global futurist ecosystem headquartered in Johannesburg founded by our Ósìnàkáchì Ákùmà Kálù, and was a member of its board of advisors.

A committed transhumanist whose interests span advancing the life sciences, extending human lifespan, and the creation of conscious artificial general intelligence, he was featured in 2019 in the #IAmTranshuman campaign showcasing transhumanist stories. In March 2024, Gabriel was a panelist at the Primer Congreso Nacional de Inteligencia Artificial en Enfermería in Elche — the first Spanish national congress on artificial intelligence in nursing, organized by the Consejo de Enfermería de la Comunidad Valenciana (CECOVA) and attended by a thousand nurses — where he analyzed the automation of tasks and AI-based decision-making support from both technological and humanistic perspectives. He contributes regularly as a speaker and moderator to national and international forums on AI and health, addressing algorithmic integrity, clinical deployment, and the future of neuro-engineering.

Earlier, from 2018 to 2019, Gabriel was Lead Data Scientist at Smart IoT Labs in Seville, and from 2017 to 2019 he was Senior Consultant in Artificial Intelligence at Stratence Partners in London, applying AI to strategy optimization, commercial effectiveness, and pricing excellence for global clients. Between 2017 and 2018, he was a Data Scientist and Machine Learning Researcher at the Universidad de Sevilla, building a TensorFlow expert system for the Consulting 3.0 research project, and he also worked as an NLP Engineer at Kerox Technology and, from 2016 to 2017, as a big data developer at AYESA, a global engineering and technology group present in 16 countries.

In 2019, he coauthored The Systematic Discovery of Services in Early Stages of Agile Developments: A Systematic Literature Review, published by Scientific Research Publishing in the Journal of Computer and Communications.

Gabriel earned his degree in software engineering from the Universidad de Sevilla in 2016, where his final-year project developed a brain–computer interface classifying mental states from raw electroencephalogram signals captured with an Emotiv EPOC headset, training linear, multilayer, and convolutional neural network models in TensorFlow.

He went on to earn a Master's Degree in Computer Languages and Systems (Artificial Intelligence branch) from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in 2018, and a Master's Degree in Neuroscience from the Instituto Superior Europeo de Barcelona (ISEB).

Gabriel is based in Madrid and speaks Spanish, English, and French. His self-declared guiding question: “What is the best that a Human Being can do?
