Fernando Aires is a Limited Partner, XPrize HealthSpan Program Manager, and Fellow at R42 Group and Member of the Board of Directors at TECHFIT Digital Surgery with over 25 years of experience in technology innovation, investment, and biohacking. He is currently a Strategic Advisor at AgeRate, helping to revolutionize personalized health diagnostics through epigenetic biological age testing and science-backed longevity recommendations. Fernando is also a Certified Bulletproof® Human Upgrade Coach with the Human Potential Institute, specializing in enhancing individual performance and achieving financial independence.
Fernando currently serves as Limited Partner, Program Manager, and Fellow at R42 Group, a venture capital firm that actively invents and finances deep science ventures, particularly in AI and longevity technologies.As part of this role, he manages the XPRIZE Healthspan program, a 7-year, $101 million global competition to revolutionize the way we approach human aging. The competition challenges teams to develop therapeutics that restore muscle, cognitive, and immune function by a minimum of 10 years, with a goal of 20 years, in persons aged 50–80 years. Since 2021, Fernando has served on the Board of Directors at TECHFIT Digital Surgery, a medical device company with over 10 years of experience working in the surgical planning, design, and manufacturing of patient-specific implants for craniomaxillofacial and orthopedic segments.As Strategic Advisor at AgeRate, he helps guide this Canadian/American startup that has developed its own epigenetic biological age clock, combining results with biodata analysis to provide personalized lifestyle recommendations targeting specific health and aging improvements.
From 2015 to 2019, Fernando was the Cofounder and CEO of RealEstateTools.com, a software company providing real estate investment data applications for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and web-based solutions. He achieved his own financial independence through real estate income investing after retiring from Corporate America, designing computer chips in the tech industry for over 25 years.
Fernando developed a coaching practice focused on helping clients reach their “Financial Independence Day™,” leveraging his success in building a portfolio of over 70 rental properties in just two years. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Fernando spent over a decade at Apple, where he held two senior management positions. From April 2011 to May 2014, he served as Program Manager for Intellectual Property in the Silicon Engineering Hardware Group, managing external companies providing IP for System on a Chip (SOC) and other chips present in all of Apple’s mobile products. Between June 2004 and April 2011, he was Senior Manager of the Mobile Silicon Engineering group, overseeing three main areas in IC physical design: Chip Integration, Physical Design Verification, and Layout Design. His tenure at Apple coincided with the development of groundbreaking products including the iPhone and iPad.
Before Apple, Fernando was Director at PA Semi from April 2004 to June 2008, managing Physical Design including Chip Integration, Physical Design Verification and Layout Design.He also held the position of Manager of Chip Integration and Physical Verification at AMD in 2004.
Fernando earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Graphics Technology from Alfred State College – SUNY College of Technology. He is currently pursuing another degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Arizona State University from January 2022 to January 2026, with a focus on genetic engineering.His earlier education includes attending Colegio São Marcos in Brazil.

As a member of Biohacking Portugal since January 2020, Fernando continues to promote biohacking practices and longevity optimization internationally.
Born in October 1967, Fernando is a Brazilian-American currently residing in Scottsdale, Arizona. Being a digital nomad, he loves to travel and work from interesting locations worldwide. When not working, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, and stays active with HIIT, Yoga, Pilates, jogging, hiking, and Tai Chi.
