Eyal Ben-Ze’ev, MSc
Eyal Ben-Ze’ev, MSc is the Cofounder and Managing Director of Mars Land Israel, a pioneering space analog mission project, and a Space Professional, Speaker, and Conference Moderator with over 20 years of experience in the defense and high-tech industries. He currently manages all space-related aspects of the Mars Land initiative while serving as an international speaker and content creator specializing in space technology and innovation.
Since 2023, he has been developing Mars Land Israel as a platform for advancing space exploration research and education in the Middle East. He is known for his extensive work in space technology, having participated in prestigious programs at the International Space University at NASA Ames Research Center in 2009 and Singularity University in 2012, where he received almost full scholarships to both institutions.
His expertise spans remote sensing, product management, and innovation in both aerospace and consumer technology sectors. He currently produces podcasts about space and technology, moderates international conferences in the space vertical, and develops content for space-related events while conducting recruitment for companies in the space field. Between 2017 and 2024, Eyal served as Senior Product Manager at Amobee, where he managed product integration between company platforms, working with development teams in Israel and internationally. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2017, he worked as Product Manager at SIRIN LABS, where he defined and developed Android apps and services for the global mobile luxury market, including work on the SOLARIN smartphone, a $17,000 military-grade secure device. His responsibilities included defining concepts and requirements for camera apps, service apps, dialer and contacts apps, wireless charging, WiFi calling, and E-SIM technologies. Between 2005 and 2012, Eyal worked at the Israel Aerospace Industries Space Division in various roles including Product Management, Marketing, and Knowledge Management. He led cultural innovation processes across the organization, receiving the Vice President of R&D Award for innovation in 2011. He organized innovation camps with 150 participants and established innovation meetups, 24-hour hackathons, and other initiatives that transformed the organization’s approach to innovation. In 2012, Eyal cofounded and served as COO of Nanopop, a mobile market research startup based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which emerged from his participation in Singularity University’s Graduate Studies Program. The company was accepted by Pipa, a Rio-based startup accelerator, and secured Coca-Cola as its first client. As cofounder and COO, he transformed the idea into a working product using Lean Startup methodologies, managed day-to-day operations, developed gamification strategies, and managed investor relations. Nanopop won first prize in the Barrez Vous competition and was nominated as a finalist in the ProXXIma startup competition.
Eyal earned his Master’s Degree of Science in Remote Sensing from the Jacob Blaustein Institute for Desert Research at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2003, where he received a full scholarship plus board and living expenses for 24 months. His thesis, Assessing vegetation condition in the presence of biomass burning smoke by applying the Aerosol-Free Vegetation Index (AFRI) on MODIS images, contributed to the field of remote sensing technology. He also earned his MBA with Cum Laude honors from The College of Management Academic Studies in 2012 and his Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Urban Planning from Ben-Gurion University in 2001.
As part of his educational journey, Eyal attended the International Space University’s Space Studies Program in 2009, where he worked on the Disaster Risk Evaluation And Management (DREAM) project, tailored for the Belize community using space technologies. At Singularity University in 2012, he studied exponential technologies and their applications to humanity’s grand challenges at the NASA Ames Research Center. He also studied Portuguese at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 2013 to 2014.
Since November 2003, Eyal has been self-employed as a lecturer, giving interactive talks about the future of humanity in space to groups, companies, and high school students throughout Israel. He has volunteered with SpaceIL, managing public outreach projects for Israel’s first lunar mission. In 2008, he received the Israeli Air Force Commander Prize for his contributions to the aerospace industry.
Eyal currently resides in Rehovot, Israel, where he continues his work bridging technology, space, education, and people. His career reflects a unique combination of technical expertise in remote sensing and space technology with entrepreneurial vision and a commitment to advancing space education and innovation.
