Professor Bamshad Mobasher

Bamshad Mobasher, Ph.D. is Professor, School of Computing, DePaul University. He is also director of the Center for Web Intelligence at DePaul CTI.
 
His research areas include data mining, Web mining, intelligent agents, machine learning, and computational logic. He has published over 100 scientific articles and book chapters in these areas. He is one of the leading authorities in the areas of Web mining, Web personalization, and recommender systems, and has served as an organizer and on the program committees of numerous related conferences.
 
Bamshad authored Recommender Systems, and coauthored Toward Trustworthy Recommender Systems: An Analysis of Attack Models and Algorithm Robustness, Web Search Personalization with Ontological User Profiles, Robustness of Collaborative Recommendation Based On Association Rule Mining, Defending Recommender Systems: Detection of Profile Injection Attacks, Ontological User Profiles for Representing Context in Web Search, Contextual Recommendation, Effectiveness of Crawling Attacks Against Web-based Recommender Systems, and Ontological User Profiles for Personalized Web Search.

Bamshad earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Iowa State University in 1994. He serves on the editorial boards of several prominent journals, including User Modeling and User-Adapted Interaction and the Journal of Web Semantics.
