Dr. Anders Sandberg

Dr. Anders Sandberg is a Swedish neuroscientist, science debater, futurist, transhumanist, and author. Read his Lifeboat Foundation Special Report Warning Signs for Tomorrow.
 
Anders earned a M.Sc degree in computer science in 1997 from Stockholm University and a Ph.D. in computational neuroscience in 2003 from Stockholm University. He is currently postdoctoral research assistant for the Oxford group of the EU ENHANCE Project at the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics and research associate at the Future of Humanity Institute (Faculty of Philosophy, Oxford University).
 
He is cofounder of and writer for the think tank Eudoxa. Between 1996 and 2000 he was Chairman of the Swedish Transhumanist Association.
 
He has also been scientific producer for the neuroscience exhibition “Se Hjärnan!” (“Behold the Brain!”), organized by Swedish Travelling Exhibitions, the Swedish Research Council and the Knowledge Foundation that is touring Sweden 2005–2006. The image below is from his website!
 
Anders authored Morphological Freedom — Why We not just Want it, but Need it, The Physics of Information Processing Superobjects: Daily Life Among the Jupiter Brains, Bayesian Attractor Neural Network Models of Memory, and Gesture Recognition Using Neural Networks, and coauthored A working memory model based on fast Hebbian learning, Selective Enhancement of Recall through Plasticity Modulation in an Autoassociative Memory, A Palimpsest Memory based on an Incremental Bayesian Learning Rule, and Synaptic depression as an intrinsic driver of reinstatement dynamics in an attractor network.
