Dr. Vania Assaly
Vania Assaly, M.D., is the Founder and Director of the Instituto Assaly, a São Paulo center for personalized and longevity medicine, a Cofounder and Longevity Advisor of the B-Life Clinic in Cascais, Portugal, and a Board Member of the European Longevity Hub, an international platform that accelerates healthy-longevity science from research to real-world application.
A physician with more than 36 years of clinical experience, she is a specialist in endocrinology and metabolism and a certified nutrologist who practices through a systemic, integrative approach centered on longevity medicine, personalized health, and post-genomic medicine, with an emphasis on healthspan, functionality, and quality of life across the lifespan.
Vania founded the Instituto Assaly in São Paulo and has directed it for three decades, building it into a center of excellence in personalized medicine that unites genomics, nutrition, preventive medicine, and evidence-based practice to create individualized strategies for every stage of life. Conceived on the principle of promoting education and prevention, the institute integrates functional, integrative, and personalized medicine, and today it advances post-genomic medicine, professional education, and what Vania calls conscious longevity.
Coordinated by Vania, its multidisciplinary team applies a transdisciplinary model that examines each patient across their full clinical horizon, focusing on the factors that predispose to complex chronic disease. She frames health not as the mere absence of disease but as the cultivation of metabolic, immunological, musculoskeletal, and cognitive assets that allow people to sustain vitality across decades of life.
At the B-Life Clinic, the flagship longevity clinic on the marina in Cascais, Portugal, Vania serves as Cofounder and Longevity Advisor, combining endocrinology, nutrology, and integrative medicine with full-body diagnostics and more than a hundred biomarkers to deliver clear, data-driven health strategies.
Across her work, she argues for a shift from reactive to proactive medicine, transforming the model of care for chronic disease into care for chronic health along each individual’s trajectory, and she is openly critical of clinics that market aesthetic or growth-hormone protocols under the language of longevity.
In Brazil, Vania founded and presides over the Brazilian Society of Science and Medicine of Longevity, an institution dedicated to advancing the scientific practice of longevity medicine across Brazil and Latin America and to educating health professionals to work within the science of longevity, drawing on researchers in post-genomic medicine, nutritional genomics, and epigenetics. Vania is the Scientific Director of the Latin American Lifestyle Medicine Association (LALMA), an ambassador of the European Lifestyle Medicine Organization (ELMO), and an international representative of the International Longevity Alliance (ILA), the global network advocating for healthy life extension.
Through ELMO and LALMA, she promotes lifestyle medicine as a clinical foundation for prevention and healthy aging, bringing the pillars of lifestyle medicine together with genomics and precision diagnostics. She is a coauthor of the 2026 position paper Good Practices in Healthy Longevity Medicine, written with senior members of the International Longevity Alliance for the Springer volume Healthy Longevity: Policies and Practices, which sets out definitions, standards, and good practices for the emerging field of healthy-longevity medicine.
Vania earned her medical degree from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) in Botucatu in 1986. She completed a specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of São Paulo (USP), earned her specialist certification in Nutrology from the Associação Brasileira de Nutrologia (ABRAN), and completed a postgraduate specialization in Integrative Medicine at the Instituto Israelita de Ensino e Pesquisa Albert Einstein in 2019.
She also undertook an academic master’s degree at UNESP, with work supporting and training health professionals in personalized, lifestyle, and longevity medicine, and she currently serves as an Educational Coordinator at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás (PUC Goiás).
A frequent speaker and educator on longevity, Vania has been featured at the Global Longevity Federation, where her address focused on transforming longevity science into clinical practice in the post-genomic era.
