Leszczynski, MSAE is Deputy Executive Director at the
Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority (VCSFA) and
Founder at
AdvanceSpace.
VCSFA is an Independent Authority of Virginia that owns and operates the
Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS), one of only four U.S. spaceports
certified by the FAA to launch to orbit.
Zig has 25+ years of experience in Aerospace leading teams to accomplish
what many considered impossible. He took several cutting edge programs from
concept to reality. He has 10+ years experience in Executive and Senior
positions.
He was previously Director of Training for Space Operations and Information Operations at
US Navy – Strike Force Training Atlantic (SFTL);
Staff Space Operations Officer and Air Operations Officer at
US Navy – Carrier Strike Group 8 (CSG-8);
Senior Space Advisor, Deputy Director of Training at
US Navy – Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM);
Carrier Air Wing Space Operations Officer, Squadron Operations Officer, and Safety Officer at
US Navy – Sea Control Squadron 32 (VS-32);
Staff Space Advisor, Assistant Strike Operations Officer at
US Navy – USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75);
Squadron Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO) and Special Projects Officer at
US Navy – Sea Control Squadron 22 (VS-22).
Zig earned his BSEE in Electrical Engineering at
United States Naval Academy in 1989. He earned his
MSAE in Astronautical Engineering at Naval Postgraduate School in
1998 with the thesis
Modeling, Simulation, and Visualization of Aerocapture.
