Imran Khan, M.A.

Imran Khan, M.A. is an Internationally acclaimed English Writer, Researcher, Analyst, Finance Professional, and Director of the Finance Department at the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

Imran was born and raised in Dera Ismail Khan, a small town situated in the militancy-affected tribal areas of Pakistan, near the Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan. Imran faced numerous challenges and obstacles in this impoverished and remote region, but refused to let it hold him back. He consciously chose to never give up on his dreams and aspirations.

Imran’s goal is to create a better future for himself and make a positive impact on the world around him.

Imran started his career in 2005 as the Assistant Director at NEPRA, responsible for Risk Management and identifying financial risks that could impact NEPRA. He was responsible for External Audit and Compliance, Internal Controls, Cash Flow Management, and Financial Reporting.

He continued as Senior Assistant Director of Finance and soon became the Additional Director of Finance between 2016 and 2022, before becoming the Director of Finance and Audit in 2022. His later work was Financial Planning and Analysis and Statutory Audit and Compliance.

Imran is also an Internationally acclaimed Writer and Poet. His services were requisitioned by the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission (PMIC), Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Pakistan to carry out research and analytical work on the topic of “Energy Generation & Distribution Issues in Pakistan”. He submitted a comprehensive report on the matter and as an acknowledgment of his work, Imran was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission (PMIC), Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Pakistan.

As a poet, he won a competition and published a book in the USA. His first book on poetry, Love is Evergreen, was published in the USA in July 2013.

He also writes articles on various world issues and is fortunate enough that his articles have been published in Arab News, Yemen Times, Morocco Times, The Brunei Times, The Journal of Turkish Weekly, published by the internationally recognized think tank International Strategic Research Organization (ISRO), Turkey, TodaysZaman, Turkey’s leading English Newspaper, Turkish Daily News (TDN), EU Observer, Belgium, World Security Network, Germany, American Chronicle, USA, Global Politician, USA, Peace journalism, USA, and Wjar TV an Internet Television, USA.

Imran earned his Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce in 1998 and his Master’s Degree of Commerce in 2001 from Gomal University.

Later he also concluded Oracle General Ledger Management Training and London Business Training and Consulting in 2019.

Imran is a Fellow of The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), The Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA), the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), the Association of International Accountants (AIA), and Associate Fellow of The World Business Institute (WBI).

He is the Ambassador at the Center for Open Science (COS), LinkedIn Global Goodwill Ambassador (GGA), and Ambassador to South Asia for The Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS), an award-winning California, United States-based organization.

He is also a Selected Member of Academic Research and Solutions Sociedad Limitada, Spain and of Akademika Nusa Internasional, Indonesia.

In 2016, Imran received acknowledgement and appreciation from the Honorable Minister of Economy and Planning, Saudi Arabia for his suggestions on “Demographic Challenges and Public Sector Transformation for Growth and Development of Saudi Arabia”.

He delivered a Keynote Speech on Corporate Financial Management Issues in Global Business Context at the International Conference on Interdisciplinary in Business, Economy, Management, and Social Studies (IBEMS) held in Seoul, South Korea in May 2018.
