Ivana Lazarovski, M.A.

Ivana Lazarovski, M.A., FWAAS is the Senior Advisor for Serbia and Western Balkans at Aretera.

Ivana joined Aretera in 2023 as a Senior Consultant where she offers clients practical guidance in navigating the complexities of Serbia and the Western Balkans region.

Aretera is the leading independent public affairs advisory firm operating across Central & Eastern Europe, Turkey, Ukraine, Central Asia, and growing global emerging markets. They advise a wide range of leading multinational corporations, providing counsel on all aspects of public policy, public affairs, and reputation management. Previously, between 2021 and 2023, she was the Secretary to the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. As a diplomat, she advised and maintained high-level communications with French language-speaking countries and representatives of international organizations. Her responsibilities included fostering relationships with key stakeholders, developing national strategies for engagement and cooperation, and analyzing political and economic activities to inform strategic decision-making.

Ivana began her career in 2015 as a Research Assistant at Global Rights Compliance LLP (GRC), a leading international legal practice. She contributed to projects related to state capacity and peacebuilding. They specialize in international human rights and humanitarian law, as well as conflict engagement and transformation. They work around the globe, particularly in high-risk and unstable regions, including conflict zones and areas of weak governance.

Ivana was selected as a volunteer candidate for the Belgrade Security Forum held in 2016 and was the Youth Ambassador for the II International Conference on the Future of Education in 2017.

In 2019, she worked as an Associate at NALED in Belgrade, and in 2020, Ivana became the Investor Relations Manager at Western Balkans Private Equity Fund Vintage I where she demonstrated her ability to identify and onboard new investors while conducting due diligence on potential investment targets. This experience enabled her to develop a comprehensive understanding of investment strategies and business development in the Western Balkan Region.

Ivana earned her Master’s Degree of Arts in International Security Studies from the University of Belgrade and her second Master’s Degree of Arts in Cooperation and Development from Sapienza University of Rome. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade and from Sciences Po, Paris.

Since 2017, Ivana has been a Member and Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences.
