Brian has served as an Advisor for HB11 Energy since August 2023. HB11 Energy is an Australian laser proton-boron-11 (pB11) fusion energy company. He organizes communications and processes with researchers and leadership, gathers and synthesizes research to align goals of global laser and nuclear fusion research teams, and works with business leaders on plans, fundraising, and roadmaps.
Since June 2025, he has served as Advisor to PT Thorcon Power Indonesia, the premier highly scalable nuclear energy solution utilizing innovative molten salt reactor (MSR) technology designed for mass production at shipyards. Thorcon’s 500 MW modular units can be built five to seven times faster than traditional reactors under fixed-price contracts and scaled to deliver up to 1 GW per dual-plant site.
Brian also advises Sidereus Space Dynamics since November 2024 and Aigo.ai, a company focused on a direct path to AGI, since October 2024. Since September 2025, he has served as Advisor and Researcher at Mach33 Research, conducting space research and consulting projects for venture and venture-related groups. He has also been an Advisor to Verseon, an AI and molecular science-driven accelerated drug development company with a $220 million round in process.
Brian has been a Board Member of the Monte Jade West Science & Technology Association since 2023, a professional association organized in Silicon Valley in 1989 to foster relationships between technology professionals and corporations on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. He collaborates with high-tech professionals to promote global innovation and investment flow, facilitates networking opportunities, and supports the non-profit organization through volunteer work and technology talks.
Brian gives quarterly talks to Asian and Asian-American business professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs on topics including AI and humanoid robotics. He has been an Angel Investor at Keiretsu Forum since May 2019 and a member of Space Angels since December 2019. One of his space propulsion designs, the Verne gun, is featured on Atomic Rockets (Project Rho), a comprehensive internet source for space propulsion concepts.
Brian earned his Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Calgary and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Regina.
He founded Elegant Solutions in June 2000, an IT staffing firm for software development projects, where he developed a company-wide staffing process automation project for the Adecco Group from concept to delivery for 8 million job applicants in 60 countries and 6,000 branches, hiring and managing 20 people.
Brian has been involved in nanotechnology as a Senior Associate of the Foresight Institute from 1997 to 2005, and he helped write the organization’s 2003 relaunch plan. He authored The Impact of Nanofactories on Jobs in the USA, Predictions For a Technological Future, Now Until 2050, Considering Military and Ethical Implications of Nanofactory Level Nanotechnology, and coauthored Nanotechnology in Global Security and Economics.
Brian won second place in the Honeywell University Futurist Essay Contest and maintains a top 1% public prediction track record at Metaculus. He has been a keynote and featured industry speaker, delivering four nanotechnology talks at Singularity University and interviews on YouTube accumulating over 1 million total views. He delivered future technology talks in 2022 for Singapore University Entrepreneurs and Portugal Technology Universe and was the keynote speaker at the 2019 Monte Jade Science and Technology annual conference.
He has given invited talks at USC ASTE 527 Space Concepts, the Industrial AI Forum, and Synopsys headquarters.
