The Lifeboat Foundation is supporting its first conference. And this conference is next month!

October 6, 2008 – Along with the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies and the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology, the Lifeboat Foundation is sponsoring Global Catastrophic Risks: Building a Resilient Civilization which will be held November 14, 2008 at the Computer History Museum, Mountain View, California. This conference will precede the futurist mega-gathering Convergence 08, November 15–16 at the same venue.
 
The Lifeboat Foundation’s Jamais Cascio, James J. Hughes, Mike Treder, and Eliezer Yudkowsky will be participating.
 
Help the Lifeboat Foundation support this event! (They have already raised $1,000 out of their goal of $2,500.)
