Dr. Yitzhack Schwartz

Yitzhack Schwartz, M.D. is Senior Structural Heart Disease Specialist at Rambam Healthcare Campus, Meyer Children’s Hospital; TechCast Expert Panel member at TechCast; and WW Director of Intellectual Property at Biosense Webster.
 
Yitzhack was the youngest MD to graduate in Israel. He is a non-conformist thinker, prolific inventor, and original scientist. He specializes in structural heart disease. His main interests are accurate, non-invasive, sophisticated diagnosis and image-guided therapeutics. He is the cofounder of the unique outreach mobile “pediatric-cardiology on-wheels” clinic serving the whole periphery of Northern Israel.
 
He coauthored Electromechanical mapping for determination of myocardial contractility and viability, Electromechanical Characterization of Chronic Myocardial Infarction in the Canine Coronary Occlusion Model, Coronary Angiography in Patients undergoing Transcatheter Closure of Interatrial Shunt, The Advantage of the DuctOcclud Coil for the Occlusion of Aorto-Pulmonary Shunts, Autologous Stem Cells for Functional Myocardial Repair, and Transvenous Coil Embolization of a Patent Ductus Venosus in a 2-Month-Old Child.
 
His patents include Method and device for transseptal facilitation based on injury patterns, Guided procedures for treating atrial fibrillation, Anchoring mechanism for implantable telemetric medical sensor, Method for anchoring a medical device between tissue, Simulation of invasive procedures, Externally applied RF for pulmonary vein isolation, Invasive medical device with position sensing and display, Position sensing system with integral location pad and position display, Ultrasound pulmonary vein isolation, and Prediction and assessment of ablation of cardiac tissue.
 
Yitzhack earned his M.D. at Technion-Machon Technologi Le’ Israel in 1984. He studied magnetic resonance imaging at Mayo Medical School in 1985 and cardiovascular MR imaging at University of California, San Francisco – School of Medicine from 1993 to 1994. He graduated Singularity University in 2009.
