Homework 5: Question 4

The Facts of the Case: Companies are using social media sites to get a better understanding of employees and future employees. I have a friend that is applying to be a state trooper, and he was told to clean up his Facebook account before going into the bootcamp.

My Conclusions: Companies should not use social media to spy on employees. Employees should only be evaluated by work related productivity.

Future Enviroment: Employers must ask before attempting to look at a Facebook page, or even social media be kept confidential to the employee, like family or medical history.

Future scenario: Social media is not used by companies to spy on workers, but rather companies watch productivity in the workplace and stay away from personal information, such as social media pages.
