Food production is one of the fundamental necessary skills for our efforts. But production is only as useful as the ability to utilize the food. With the hope of surplus or the desire to have a particular food out of season, food preservation becomes a key skill. Given a certain level of technology, canning of food is a reliable way to preserve food.
