Here are roadmaps which are proposed to build knowledge arks or doomsday vaults on Earth or in space.
Phase 1

- Spreading awareness about the concept of knowledge arks through media.
- Establishing working memorandums and relationships with organizations which align to the cause, such as space advocacy organizations and GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums).
- Early stages with regard to construction plans and artifact inclusion criteria.
- Publication and collection of research papers by academia regarding knowledge arks which aids in its development.
- Identifying entry points in political and influencer circles as a start in order to persuade politicians and leaders to support construction of knowledge arks.
- Ensure that space exploration and colonization become a "cool" thing in everyone's mind once again, which is a crucial step in order to construct knowledge arks beyond Earth.
