A team from the \u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland developed the insect and showed it is incredibly durable, even when being battered by a flyswatter.<\/p>\n<p>Publishing its findings to <a href=\"https:\/\/robotics.sciencemag.org\/content\/4\/37\/eaaz6451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science Robotics<\/a>, the team said the insect \u2013 called DEAnsect \u2013 is propelled 3cm per second by artificial muscles.
