It is unclear what this difference means, however.<\/p>\n<p>Typical people\u2019s brains show a slight asymmetry between the left and right hemispheres, especially in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spectrumnews.org\/news\/cognition-and-behavior-brain-symmetry-atypical-in-autism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regions associated with language<\/a>. These differences are less pronounced in autistic people, the new study found.<\/p>\n<p>The unusual symmetry seems to affect nine regions, mostly in the cerebral cortex.
