In fact, the U.S. Air Force is already testing it in planes.<\/p>\n<p>To build the service, SpaceX will have to launch up to eight Falcon 9 rockets filled with the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starlink-satellites-launch-just-beginning.html\">Starlink satellites<\/a>, SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell told SpaceNews and other reporters this week at the 70th International Astronautical Congress in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll continue to upgrade the network until mid to late next year,\u201d SpaceNews\u2019 Jeff Foust <a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/spacex-plans-to-start-offering-starlink-broadband-services-in-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\">quoted Shotwell as saying<\/a> during a media roundtable on Tuesday (Oct. 22). \u201cWe\u2019re hoping for 24 launches by the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>X, the private spaceflight company known for reusable rockets and a giant, shiny Starship, will begin offering its own satellite internet service in 2020, according to SpaceNews.
