By examining how seismic waves move through the planet\u2019s interior, scientists hope to learn more about Mars\u2019 deep inner structure.<\/p>\n<p>InSight placed the seismometer on Mars\u2019 surface in December, but it took until April for the instrument to <a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/news\/8430\/nasas-insight-detects-first-likely-quake-on-mars\/?site=insight\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-component=\"externalLink\">detect the first likely marsquake<\/a>.
