That much is fairly well known since IBM has been actively promoting quantum computing for several years. But IBM\u2019s quantum story will get all the more interesting next month, when a 53 qubit computer joins the line, making it the most powerful quantum computer available for use outside IBM.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/bits-chips.nl\/artikel\/ibm-launches-53-qubit-quantum-computer\/\">Next<\/a> month, IBM will make a 53-qubit quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/computer\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">computer<\/a> available to clients via its Q Network quantum cloud computing service,\u201d said <i>Bits&amp;Chips<\/i>. That network, said <i>Asian Scientist Magazine<\/i>, and grew into an \u201cecosystem of Fortune 500 companies, <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/start-ups\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">start-ups<\/a>, universities and national research labs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>IBM\u2019s new machine will be part of the company\u2019s quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/blogs\/research\/2019\/09\/quantum-computation-center\/\">computation<\/a> center in Poughkeepsie, New York State, marking an unveiling of its 14th quantum computer. The center \u201cis essentially a <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/data+center\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">data center<\/a> for IBM\u2019s quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2019\/09\/18\/ibm-will-soon-launch-a-53-qubit-quantum-computer\/\">machines<\/a>,\u201d said Frederic Lardinois in TechCrunch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IBM has a fleet of quantum computers.
