Scientists have developed nanoparticles that allow mice to see near-infrared light.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers are scheduled to describe the technological breakthrough on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. ET at the American Chemical Society\u2019s fall meeting, held this week in San Diego. Their presentation will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3VJGdj1YiNI&amp;list=PLLG7h7fPoH8L42YLDZk1aySuLs7aUV4iQ&amp;index=12&amp;t=0s\" target=\"_blank\">streamed live online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we look at the universe, we see only visible light,\u201d lead researcher Gang Han, a material scientists and biochemist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/pressroom\/newsreleases\/2019\/august\/nanoparticles-could-someday-give-humans-built-in-night-vision.html\" target=\"_blank\">said in a news release<\/a>. \u201cBut if we had near-infrared vision, we could see the universe in a whole new way.
