It\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedscoop.com\/darpa-racing-time-develop-tool-can-spot-deepfakes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the latest expression<\/a> of DARPA\u2019s interest in countering the chaos-inducing potential of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fedscoop.com\/tag\/deepfakes\/\">deepfakes<\/a>\u201d \u2014 the practice of using artificial intelligence to manipulate audio, video, text or photo files.<\/p>\n<p>The SemaFor program, DARPA says, will explore ways to get around some of the weaknesses of current deepfake detection tools.
