In one patient, it eliminated a cancerous tumor, <a href=\"http:\/\/clincancerres.aacrjournals.org\/content\/early\/2019\/06\/29\/1078-0432.CCR-18-4022.article-info\">the group reported<\/a> July 4 in the journal Clinical Cancer Research.<\/p>\n<p>A group of researchers conducted an early-stage clinical trial in which they infected 15 bladder cancer patients with coxsackievirus A21, which is one of the viruses that cause the common cold. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/64117-coxsackievirus-b-pregnancy.html\">Coxsackievirus<\/a> is not a genetically modified virus; it\u2019s \u201csomething that occurs in nature,\u201d said senior author Hardev Pandha, a professor of medical oncology at the University of Surrey in England.
