It\u2019s here now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tough conditions:<\/strong> There have been <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2019\/apr\/02\/revealed-amazon-employees-suffer-after-workplace-injuries\">many reports<\/a> over recent years about <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/4\/16\/17243026\/amazon-warehouse-jobs-worker-conditions-bathroom-breaks\">unpleasant conditions workers face<\/a> at Amazon warehouses. Employees are under pressure to pack hundreds of boxes per hour, and face being fired if they aren\u2019t fast enough.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s new:<\/strong> <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/uploads\/chorus_asset\/file\/16190209\/amazon_terminations_documents.pdf\">Documents<\/a> obtained by <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2019\/4\/25\/18516004\/amazon-warehouse-fulfillment-centers-productivity-firing-terminations\">The Verge<\/a> show that it\u2019s far more common for people to be fired due to lack of productivity than outsiders realize. Roughly 300 people were fired at a single facility between August 2017 and September 2018 for that reason.
