We have real-world droids and ion engines. We\u2019ve seen dual-sun planets like Tatooine and a moon that eerily resembles the Death Star. And with all the excitement around the premiere of <em>Star Wars: The Force Awaken<\/em>s, the Force will soon be felt 250 miles above Earth on the International Space Station. Disney is sending up the new film so the astronauts can watch in orbit, and the station\u2019s commander, Scott Kelly, can hardly wait:<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking to be a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Commercial_Crew\/status\/677545988798717953\">sky walker<\/a>\u201d yourself someday, NASA is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/press-release\/be-an-astronaut-nasa-accepting-applications-for-future-explorers\">now taking astronaut applications<\/a> and we\u2019re offering a list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/the-application-awakens-7-reasons-you-should-apply-to-beanastronaut\">Star Wars-related reasons<\/a> you should apply. Recently returned station astronaut Kjell Lindgren is such a fan that he posed with his station crewmates in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/atoms\/files\/exp_45_sfa_crew_poster_hi.pdf\">Jedi-themed mission poster<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starwars.com\/news\/interview-kjell-lindgren-of-nasa\">talked to <a href=\"http:\/\/StarWars.com\">StarWars.com<\/a><\/a> about it.
