They couldn\u2019t operate it if the pressure was too low. When we reduced the pressure in the simulation, we found that the instabilities in the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/flow\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">flow<\/a> calmed down. We still had a lot of the kind of vortical structure\u2014separation bubbles and swirls\u2014they were still there.
